Full Recap
A Secret Alliance is Forged
The episode opens with Li Song'er in a precarious situation, having been found out by the real Chu Meng Die. Thinking fast, Li Song'er convinces Chu Meng Die that she is merely a pawn, forced by the villainous Nan Chui Meng to impersonate her and steal the "Xiao Yao Jue" under threat of death. Sympathizing with the powerless Li Song'er, Chu Meng Die agrees to help. Their plan is simple yet deadly: Chu Meng Die will write a flawed version of the mind-force technique. The goal is for Li Song'er to pass it to Nan Chui Meng, causing him to suffer a fatal Qi deviation during practice. Secretly, however, Li Song'er is thrilled with this development, seeing it as the perfect weapon to use against Gu Yuan, which she believes will finally allow her to return to her original world.
Jealousy, Misunderstandings, and Green Vegetables
Meanwhile, Gu Yuan's feelings for Li Song'er continue to grow. He waits for her in her room to gift her a protective charm, worried about the dangers of her upcoming training and promising to watch over her in secret. His loyal attendant, Han Yan, expresses concern that Li Song'er might betray his trust, but Gu Yuan is willing to bet on his kindness winning her over.
This trust is soon tested. After Li Song'er and Chu Meng Die (disguised as a man named Lin Pi) are seen leaving an inn together, Gu Yuan mistakenly assumes she had a romantic rendezvous. His jealousy manifests in a petty but pointed gesture: he orders Han Yan to serve a dinner composed entirely of green dishes—a symbolic act reflecting his belief that he is being cheated on.
Later, Gu Yuan tries to make amends by bringing Li Song'er her favorite pastries from Zuimeng City, though he stubbornly claims Han Yan had them made. Li Song'er sees through his gruff exterior but feigns disgust, telling him to stop trying to win her over and focus on mastering the technique so he can send her home.
The Fake Manual and a Shocking Revelation
The conspiracy deepens as Zhou Heng, another rival, has his subordinate spy on Li Song'er's training sessions with Uncle Bai. Unaware that she is only mechanically mimicking the moves provided by Chu Meng Die, Zhou Heng's man copies the flawed techniques, which Zhou Heng then practices with smug satisfaction.
The plan moves into its final, deadly phase. Li Song'er receives the fake manual from Chu Meng Die and gives it to Gu Yuan. Chu Meng Die sends a warning: Gu Yuan will practice the technique at the appointed hour and die from Qi deviation. She urges Li Song'er to be ready to escape with her immediately after, as the valley's master will surely become suspicious.
As the fatal hour approaches, Han Yan brings Li Song'er a meal and, in a moment of conversation, reveals Gu Yuan's tragic past. She explains that his relentless pursuit of the "Xiao Yao Jue" is driven by a need for revenge for his parents, who were brutally murdered. Struck by a massive wave of guilt, Li Song'er realizes the devastating consequences of her actions. With time running out, she abandons all plans and sprints toward Gu Yuan's room in a desperate attempt to stop him from practicing the deadly technique, setting the stage for a life-or-death cliffhanger.
