In the Name of Blossom: Episode 10 Spoilers
After their relentless efforts, He Weifang and Jiang Changyang successfully cultivate peonies in the dead of winter, presenting them just in time. At the imperial court, the flowers are initially hidden behind a large screen, much to the annoyance of the skeptical guests. At the perfect moment, as sunlight streams in, the screen is removed to reveal a breathtaking sight: vibrant peonies in full bloom, so magnificent that they attract a host of butterflies and rare birds. The spectacular display leaves the entire court in awe, moving some onlookers to tears of joy.
The emperor is thoroughly delighted and proclaims it a sign of a prosperous era. He rewards He Weifang with the prestigious title of "Number One Flower Merchant Under Heaven." Later, he invites both He Weifang and Jiang Changyang to a celebratory banquet and offers them lodging in the palace for the night. To Jiang Changyang’s surprise, He Weifang gracefully accepts.
That night, while they are alone, the professional triumph gives way to personal tension. He Weifang asks about Jiang Changyang's future plans, but he gently pushes her away, insisting his work is too dangerous to involve her. He suggests that with her new imperial title, she is now set for a safe and successful life. Feeling hurt by his rejection of her help, she walks away to the side hall where the peonies are displayed.
Jiang Changyang follows her. Gazing at the flowers, He Weifang laments that their brilliant beauty is only temporary. Feeling emboldened after a few drinks, she confesses her heartfelt feelings for him. In a tender moment, Jiang Changyang pulls her into his arms, allowing her to rest against his chest.
The next morning, as they are about to depart, they run into Xuexi, who has arrived to see the emperor. He Weifang magnanimously encourages Jiang Changyang to accompany Xuexi, while she leaves the palace alone. Her composed and selfless action is witnessed by Guard Pei, who is left astonished.
Upon returning to her garden, He Weifang finds the members of the flower guild waiting for her. The current leader, Lü Hangzhang, congratulates her on her success and offers to step down so she can become the new guild leader. He Weifang accepts the position, but only for a moment. She immediately announces a new rule: women are now permitted to join the merchant guild with the same rights as men. Having made this groundbreaking change, she promptly returns the leadership token to Lü Hangzhang, explaining that she never coveted the position and praising his fair leadership. Her integrity and bold move win her immense respect from all present.
