In the Name of Blossom Episode 11
During the Lantern Festival, Jiang Changyang romantically decorates a courtyard with blooming lotus lanterns, planning to confess his feelings to He Weifang. However, his plans are shattered by the news that she has been abducted by Pei Zhong.
Enraged, Jiang Changyang and his men race to Pei Zhong's residence, cutting down anyone who obstructs their path. Inside, He Weifang is bound and helpless. Seeing Pei Zhong polishing his sword, she realizes the grave danger she is in. She tries to bluff, claiming Jiang Changyang doesn't care for her and her absence would go unnoticed. Pei Zhong ignores her as the sounds of fighting erupt outside. Soon, Jiang Changyang finds them.
Pei Zhong holds his sword to He Weifang's throat, blaming Jiang Changyang for ruining his plan to assault a woman named Xuexi. Jiang Changyang attempts to de-escalate, reminding Pei Zhong that Xuexi is intelligent and protected by the powerful Grand Princess, so she would never have yielded to him. When Pei Zhong pathetically asks for help in winning Xuexi's affection, Jiang Changyang tells him bluntly that nothing can be done if the feelings aren't mutual.
Seemingly defeated, Pei Zhong lowers his sword and tells them to leave. Wary of his sudden change, Jiang Changyang cautiously approaches He Weifang. Just as he gets close, He Weifang spots Pei Zhong activating a hidden trap. With all her strength, she shoves Jiang Changyang to safety, falling into the pit herself.
As the trap begins to release a poisonous mist, Jiang Changyang frantically tries to pry open the closing mechanism, even breaking his own hairpin in the desperate attempt, but it seals shut. His men finally burst in, and with He Weifang no longer a direct hostage, Jiang Changyang’s fury is unleashed. He stabs Pei Zhong, forcing him to open the trap.
The gravely wounded Pei Zhong curses Jiang Changyang, calling him a ruthless man fated to bring harm to any woman he loves, claiming only a "lowly flower girl" would ever stay with him. The curse strikes a nerve, making Jiang Changyang reflect on the dangers his life poses to He Weifang, with this incident being a terrifying example.
Back home, Jiang Changyang summons the best doctor for He Weifang. The doctor uses acupuncture to draw out the poisoned blood, assuring him that with a few more treatments, she will fully recover. Upon waking, He Weifang's first thought is for Jiang Changyang's well-being. She gets out of bed to find him and sees the beautiful peony lanterns he had prepared for her in the garden. While she is filled with joy, Jiang Changyang coldly pushes her away, stating that they should stop their entanglement and live their own separate lives for the best. Heartbroken by his words, He Weifang turns and walks away.
