In Hangzhou, a young man named Xu Tian is haunted by the memory of his late mother. He remembers her running a cheongsam shop and her love for Yue Opera, especially "Legend of the White Snake." He believes his mother is trapped under the Leifeng Pagoda, just like the White Serpent spirit in the tale. This obsession leads him to frequently visit the pagoda to check the number of visitors, believing a larger crowd weighs more heavily on her.

One spring afternoon, a sudden, violent thunderstorm plunges the city into darkness. As Xu Tian returns home, he is startled to see a face identical to his own peering through the window before quickly vanishing. Shaken, he searches the area to no avail. Upon returning to his apartment, he finds the man—his doppelgänger—taking shelter from the rain inside. In the dim light, the stranger, who is actually a man from Beijing named Zhou Tong, doesn't see Xu Tian's face clearly and politely asks him to turn on the lights. As Xu Tian goes to flip the switch, the storm abruptly ends, and sunlight floods the room. By the time he comes back downstairs, the mysterious man is gone, leaving Xu Tian to regret not even asking for his name.

Desperate to find his double, Xu Tian recalls that the owner of a local convenience store, Boss Shi, once offered to set him up with a woman who works at the city's traffic monitoring center. He asks Boss Shi to arrange the date, hoping she can help him access city-wide surveillance footage.

Meanwhile, in a different storyline, a young dancer named Wen Xiaoyao is determined to land the lead role of Bai Suzhen in her drama school's production. After her director tells her that her performance lacks emotional depth due to her limited life experience, Xiaoyao decides the best way to enrich her "emotional world" is to fall in love. She enlists her best friend, Qiao Mi, to help find her a boyfriend.

In Beijing, we meet Zhou Tong, an influencer and travel vlogger. His mother, Song Guanwang, is worried about his unconventional career and lack of a partner. While looking through the photos from his recent trip to Hangzhou, she is shocked to see a picture of a man who looks exactly like her son. Believing he just took a photo of himself, she asks him about it, but Zhou Tong is equally surprised by the discovery.

Determined to get him settled, Song Guanwang fakes a fever reading to prevent Zhou Tong from traveling again and pressures him into going on a blind date. As fate would have it, Qiao Mi has asked her well-connected father, Qiao Guanghui, to find a match for Wen Xiaoyao. At the same time, Song Guanwang calls Qiao Guanghui, an old acquaintance, asking him to arrange a date for her son with a nice girl he knows personally. Seeing the perfect opportunity, he arranges for Zhou Tong and Wen Xiaoyao to meet.

The episode ends with both Zhou Tong and Wen Xiaoyao nervously waiting at the restaurant for their blind date, unaware of the strange connection that led them there. Their respective mothers, Song Guanwang and Qiao Mi, watch from a hidden spot on the second floor, both pleased with the potential match.
