Episode Summary
The second episode follows two disastrous blind dates. Wen Xiaoyao and Zhou Tong meet under false pretenses; he to appease his mom, and she for "life experience." The date ends with him taking a bad fall. Meanwhile, Xu Tian's meeting with Shi Dian Dian goes awry when he realizes she was misled by her father into thinking he was romantically interested. He flees, but she becomes determined to win him over. Wen Xiaoyao visits the injured Zhou Tong, where he reveals a past trauma about his father's death as his reason for avoiding relationships. His mother later scolds him, revealing Wen Xiaoyao is also an orphan who remains positive, and urges him to apologize and explain himself properly.

"The Wonderful World" Episode 2: Awkward Dates and Deeper Wounds
The episode opens on the cringeworthy blind date between Wen Xiaoyao and Zhou Tong. He’s instantly captivated by her and can't figure out why she'd need to be set up. The tension is thick, but Zhou Tong eventually confesses he’s only there to make his mom happy. Amused, Wen Xiaoyao admits she has her own agenda: gaining life experience for an acting role.
With the pressure off, Zhou Tong gets ready to leave for a flight but ends his date with a spectacular wipeout on a wet floor. In a parallel story, Xu Tian meets with Shi Dian Dian, but it's a setup with a different purpose. He's brought a cheongsam he made, hoping she can help him with something, but her father, Lao Shi, has misled her into thinking it's a genuine romantic date. Shi Dian Dian, taking it all seriously, tries on the dress—a perfect fit—and immediately begins outlining their future together, including marriage and children. Xu Tian, realizing the huge misunderstanding, panics and slips away.
Feeling bad about Zhou Tong's fall, Wen Xiaoyao decides to visit him with a gift of crabs, getting his address from her friend Qiao Mi. Meanwhile, a dejected Shi Dian Dian returns the cheongsam to Xu Tian. He awkwardly explains he only wanted to ask for her help in finding someone. However, the very logical Shi Dian Dian isn't deterred; she’s now set on him and tells her father to arrange another meeting, convinced they can build a relationship. As fate would have it, a guilty Xu Tian calls Lao Shi to set up an apology dinner, playing right into her plan.
When Wen Xiaoyao arrives at Zhou Tong's home, his mother, Song Guanwang, is delighted to learn she's single. The reunion between Wen Xiaoyao and Zhou Tong is even more awkward than their first meeting. He shares his deep-seated trauma: he witnessed his father's death in an accident at age fifteen. The event left him believing life is meaningless and that romance is a waste of time.
The situation gets more complicated when Qiao Mi's father, Qiao Guanghui, shows up with a diamond ring intended for Song Guanwang, causing a misunderstanding with his daughter. After Wen Xiaoyao leaves, clearly unsettled by Zhou Tong's bleak outlook, his mother sets him straight. She reveals that Wen Xiaoyao is also an orphan but chooses to live with a positive attitude. Song Guanwang insists that he stop using his past trauma as an excuse for his pessimism and explain himself properly to Wen Xiaoyao.
