Episode Summary
Jiang Yuwen fakes his death in a lab explosion to escape Mo Yuanzhi. In the Moma parking garage, Mo Yuanzhi confronts Jiang, revealing the truth about the RAN drug's side effects and taking his data by threatening his daughter. The confrontation escalates to the rooftop, where Ding Qi foils Mo Yuanzhi's helicopter escape. Mo Yuanzhi confesses he became a cycle perceiver to save Feng Wanqing. During the arrest, Ding Qi's heart fails, but he manages to cuff himself to Mo Yuanzhi before collapsing. Ding Qi is saved at the hospital by An Lan, and he chooses to take a cure that removes his cycle abilities, sharing a kiss with her. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Mo Yuanzhi escapes custody, and Ding Qi senses it.

The Lab Explosion That Wasn't
Jiang Yuwen's Escape Plan
The episode throws us right into the past. We see Mo Yuanzhi killing Jiang Yuwen in the lab eight years ago. You Yuxiang witnessed the whole thing. This explains a lot about his loyalty.
The show then reminds us that in the second, third, and fourth cycles, Jiang Yuwen tried to talk Mo Yuanzhi down. It never worked. He got killed every single time.
But this is the fifth and final loop. Jiang Yuwen had a new plan. Before Mo Yuanzhi could arrive, Jiang set up a chemical reaction. It caused a huge explosion in the lab. He wasn't in it, though. He had already put on a firefighter's uniform. He hid inside a fireproof cabinet during the blast. Then he simply walked out with the real firefighters who came to put out the fire. It was a pretty slick move. You Yuxiang saw the destroyed lab and called the cops, thinking Jiang was dead.
While all this chaos was happening, we got a small, nice moment. An Lan's mother finally woke up. An Lan was just completely overcome with joy.
The Parking Garage Standoff
Bombs and Bad Blood
The action moves to the Moma parking garage. Ding Qi finally located Han Yufei and Tang Xin. They were hidden in one of Mo Yuanzhi's cars.
Jiang Yuwen, fresh from his faked death, found Mo Yuanzhi in the garage. This is where Mo Yuanzhi laid it all out. He explained that the first-generation RAN drug was unstable. It attacks the weakest part of a person's body. For Jiang Yuwen, that was his immune system.
Mo Yuanzhi then threatened Jiang Yuwen's daughter to get what he wanted. Jiang folded immediately. He handed over all his technical data on the RAN project. At the same time, Yu Peishan was using a drone to scan the garage. She found the group on the third basement level. She also spotted that one of them was wearing a bomb. The police started evacuating everyone in the building above.
Mo Yuanzhi knocked Jiang Yuwen to the ground. That's when he discovered the bomb. It was wired to Jiang's pulse. If his heart stopped, it would detonate. Jiang begged Mo Yuanzhi to spare his daughter. This just made Mo Yuanzhi furious. He screamed at Jiang for not sparing Feng Wanqing. He grabbed Jiang's own cane and started beating him with it. Then he just started smashing the empty ground next to him until the cane snapped.
Mo Yuanzhi told him that his daughters wouldn't live through the day. He also said Jiang wouldn't live much longer either. Just as things were getting really ugly, Ding Qi arrived. He told Jiang that both of his daughters were safe.
The Rooftop Finale
The Confession
Ding Qi followed Mo Yuanzhi up to the roof of the Moma building. A helicopter was already on its way for Mo Yuanzhi's escape. Ding Qi fired a warning shot at the pilot. The pilot got the message and flew away.
Mo Yuanzhi was cornered and enraged. He called Feng Qiming and ordered him to kill An Lan and her mother. The joke was on him, though. Ding Qi had Feng Qiming's phone. Mo Yuanzhi knew it was over. He dropped his bag and sat on the ground, completely defeated.
He then confessed everything. He took the drug himself to try and save Feng Wanqing. That's how he became a cycle perceiver. He said that when he woke up, he felt five times the pain that Feng Wanqing had gone through. He blamed Jiang Yuwen for all of it. He also revealed his side effect from the drug. His eyes were failing. Ding Qi admitted that he was also in constant pain from the loops.
A Last-Ditch Effort
As Ding Qi moved in to make the arrest, Mo Yuanzhi pulled a hidden dagger. They fought, but Ding Qi overpowered him without much trouble. But just as Ding Qi was about to put the cuffs on, he collapsed. His heart was giving out from the strain of the loops. With the last of his strength, he managed to cuff himself to Mo Yuanzhi.
Mo Yuanzhi went ballistic. He stomped on Ding Qi, trying to break the cuffs, but it was no use. He grabbed the fallen dagger to stab Ding Qi. Before he could, Fang Lu arrived and shot the dagger out of his hand. Duan Zheng performed CPR on Ding Qi, but he wasn't responding. The whole team broke down.
A New Beginning?
The Cure and a Kiss
Of course, Ding Qi wasn't dead. He was rushed to the hospital and saved. Duan Zheng told him that it was An Lan who saved his life. The whole team came to his room to celebrate, and An Lan was visibly relieved to see him awake.
Later, by a river, An Lan gave him the cure she developed. She confirmed one last time that if he took it, he would lose his ability to perceive the cycles forever. He told her he had no regrets. As fireworks lit up the sky, he kissed her.
It seemed like a happy ending. Mo Yuanzhi was in custody and had gone completely blind. Feng Qiming agreed to testify against him. The team was celebrating together, back to normal.
But then we cut to Mo Yuanzhi. A doctor came to give him a painkiller. Mo Yuanzhi attacked the doctor and overpowered him. At the exact same moment, Ding Qi, while kissing An Lan, suddenly felt something was wrong. He looked off in the direction of the detention center.
