A Close Call in the Heavenly Palace

So, the roof of the Yunding Tiangong blows open. Water starts pouring in like crazy. Zhang Qiling tells everyone to run for it. Wu Xie and Pang Zi are right behind him. They manage to get into another room and force a heavy stone door shut. But it's not enough. Water starts coming in from another side. The room is sealed tight, and there's nowhere to go. Pang Zi thinks this is the end for all three of them.

Zhang Qiling stays calm, though. He tells them to trust that the tomb's builder, Wang Zanghai, must have designed an escape route. As the water rises, he tells them to hold their breath and swim up. They all start swimming for their lives. Suddenly, A'Ning appears out of nowhere, also trying to escape. Her foot gets tangled in something like seaweed. Wu Xie can't just leave her there. He swims down and cuts her free.

The rescue takes all of his energy. Wu Xie starts to sink. Everything gets hazy. Just then, Zhang Qiling swims over to him. He zips up Wu Xie's jacket and pulls the hood over his head. This traps air inside and makes him float to the surface.

Waking Up and Saying Goodbye

Wu Xie opens his eyes in a bright hospital room. Pang Zi is there, looking totally fine. He's been by Wu Xie's side for three days. Wu Xie's first question is about Zhang Qiling. Pang Zi tells him that Zhang Qiling left for the docks just a half-hour ago. Wu Xie jumps out of bed and rushes to find him, but he's too late. Zhang Qiling is gone. He did, however, leave a notebook for Wu Xie.

The Notebook's Secrets

The notebook contains some of Wu Sanxing's old notes. It also talks about Wang Zanghai. We learn that Wang Zanghai was also obsessed with finding a way to live forever. He knew the original tomb owner's plan to use jade for immortality was naive. So, Wang Zanghai created pills that caused animals to mutate. This explains creatures like the Sea Monkey they encountered before. The notebook also suggests that the terrifyingJin Po was probably just a type of worm, and their fear made it seem much worse.

Pang Zi's Farewell

Pang Zi takes Wu Xie out for a meal. He tells Wu Xie to stop obsessing over his Third Uncle's motives and the "truth." He says it's not that important. Pang Zi is leaving the next day. He's grateful to Wu Xie for saving his life so many times during their adventures. He also warns Wu Xie not to be so naive in the future. Not everyone is as loyal as he is.

The Truth About Third Uncle

Here's the big twist. The Wu Sanxing that was with them in the underwater tomb was a fake. He was a decoy. The real Wu Sanxing hired him to lure A'Ning and her team into a trap and get rid of them. He never expected his own nephew, Wu Xie, to show up and save A'Ning. Now, the decoy is done with the charade. The real Wu Sanxing has to figure out a new way to reappear in front of Wu Xie without revealing the whole scheme.
