The Trap Is Sprung

Man Wai-sam finally stops playing nice. She turns the SNK studio into a slaughterhouse for corrupt executives. Lau Yim kicks things off with a report on student council embezzlement. Then Cheung Ka-yin exposes an insurance company leaking data. It feels like random news at first. It isn't.

Man Wai-sam turns to Koo Chiu-wah. She asks him about cross-border telecom fraud. Ku freezes. He knows she’s talking about him. He tries to play dumb and steer the conversation back to the Fuyu Fund. Man Wai-sam doesn't let him breathe. She cuts to a live feed from a rival news station. They are reporting on the same fraud. Every road leads back to the Fuyu Fund.

Ku panics. He demands the crew cut the feed. Lee Hin-ting ignores him. In fact, Lee zooms the camera right in on Ku’s sweating face. The panic is real, and the whole city is watching.

A United Front

We find out Man Wai-sam planned this days ago. She didn't want the glory for herself. She gathered all the major news outlets. They agreed to coordinate the scoop. Everyone gets a piece of the pie, and the impact is massive.

They display a connection map on the screen. It links intermediary companies directly to 3U Park. The money flows in a circle. It even involves an international fugitive. Ku tries to wash his hands of it. He claims he knew nothing before the fund started. He promises to investigate. It’s a weak lie.

Blackmail Live on Air

Ku runs out of the studio. Man Wai-sam texts Hui Sze-ching. The net is tightening. Ku finds Wu Chi-sing and asks if he’s being set up. Wu just shows him a contract. Ku realizes he’s the fall guy. But he has no choice. He follows Wu back into the studio.

Man Wai-sam goes for the throat. She asks about the fund's capital sources. Wu claims "trade secrets." She asks about 3U Park. Wu gets nasty. He pulls out a prepared script and orders Man Wai-sam to read it. He wants her to clear his name live on air.

She refuses. She plays a video of actress Wong Yuet accusing them instead. Wu plays his ace. He shows Man a video of Ivan (Poon Ji-ngo) getting beaten up. Man Wai-sam breaks. She can't let Ivan die. She starts reading Wu's script.

The Past Catches Up

The team at the Open Platform doesn't stop digging. Siu Tin strikes gold. He finds a photo from fifteen years ago. It shows a slum demolition in Southeast Asia. Wu Chi-sing is in the picture. He isn't some elite businessman.

Siu Tin sends the photo to the SNK studio. Ka-yin and Lau Yim throw it on the teleprompter. Man Wai-sam sees it and immediately questions Wu.

Wu knows he’s caught. He admits he came from poverty. He faked his degree. He claims he just wanted respect. But he denies the 3U Park connection. Ka-yin notices Man Wai-sam is holding back. She checks the backend and sees the blackmail video of Ivan. She doesn't hesitate. She throws the beating video onto the main studio screen.

Wu tries to flip the script. He blames Man Wai-sam for sending a colleague into danger.

Game Over

A message pops up on Man Wai-sam’s phone. The Hong Kong Security Bureau raided 3U Park. They worked with four consulates. The victims are safe.

Wu tries to sneak away. The police are waiting at the door. They cuff both Wu and Ku. The joint operation between the media houses worked. The fraud ring is dead.

In the interrogation room, Wu blames everything on Ku. He claims he was just an underling. Ku isn't stupid, though. He recorded every meeting he ever had with Wu. He hands the tapes to the police.

A New Chapter

Man Wai-sam rushes to the hospital. Ivan is safe. He looks at her like she’s family. He says the pain was worth it.

Mrs. Fong recovers and returns to work. Man Wai-sam hands back the directorship. She’s done with corporate politics. She wants to be a free journalist.

Siu Chun-lok helps Kelly Tang sort out her legal mess. Ka-yin offers Kelly a job at the Open Platform. She can finally be a real reporter. Lau Yim’s morning sickness gets worse, and the team has a good laugh about it.

The four queens of news gather at the beach. They meet the boy George Leung saved. He explains he went abroad to heal his trauma. He calls Leung a hero.
