A Tale of Two Couples and a Twist of Fate
In the eleventh episode, the intricate lives of two couples collide in Beijing, leading to heartbreak, mistaken identities, and unexpected opportunities.
The episode picks up with Zhou Tong and Wen Xiaoyao. Despite his inner turmoil, Zhou Tong maintains a calm facade. As they walk, he cryptically speaks of letting go of things that aren't meant to be, a sentiment Xiaoyao echoes without understanding its true weight. The turning point comes at the subway station. After seeing Xiaoyao onto the train, Zhou Tong stays behind on the platform, waving a final goodbye. A confused and worried Xiaoyao gets off at the next stop to find him.
Meanwhile, Xu Tian and Shi Diandian's trip to Beijing gets off to a rocky start. After their rideshare breaks down, they navigate the subway, but a series of small misunderstandings leads to them being separated. While trying to regroup, Diandian spots a man she believes to be Xu Tian and rushes to grab his hand, only to be rebuffed by a stranger—Zhou Tong.
Just as Diandian is about to pursue him, Wen Xiaoyao arrives, confronting Zhou Tong for abandoning her. He reveals the reason for his coldness: a video. Before Xiaoyao can process this, she gets a frantic call from her friend Qiao Mi. A fellow dancer, Yang Yun, has been injured, and the entire troupe is looking for Xiaoyao. As Zhou Tong walks away without a second glance, a stunned Xiaoyao is left standing in place. Shi Diandian, witnessing the entire exchange, discreetly follows Zhou Tong and snaps a few pictures.
Diandian then shifts her focus, following Xiaoyao to the dance school. Inside, Xiaoyao learns she is to take the injured dancer's lead role. Though devastated by her breakup with Zhou Tong, she channels her raw emotions into her performance, delivering a stunning show that earns high praise from the director, Zhao Gang. Backstage, she confesses to Qiao Mi that she has genuinely fallen for Zhou Tong.
The episode concludes with two cliffhangers. As Xiaoyao waits for a post-show interview, Shi Diandian approaches her. Recognizing her name and recalling that Xiaoyao's mother was a Yue Opera singer known for playing Bai Suzhen, Diandian connects her to Jia Sulan. At the same time, Xu Tian, waiting at the hotel, is approached by an assistant and taken to meet Shi Diandian's mother, Fang Fang.
