The episode opens with the aftermath of a shocking car accident. As Wen Xiaoyao's debut performance begins, Zhou Tong is nowhere to be found. His father, Song Guanwang, and Qiao Guanghui learn of the accident and rush to the hospital. There, a dazed Zhou Tong briefly wakes up in the emergency room, catching a glimpse of a mysterious woman, Shi Diandian, who flees as soon as the others arrive.
Panicked by the incident, Shi Diandian contacts her friend Fang Fang, urging her to book immediate flights back to Hangzhou for herself and Xu Tian. Her fear stems from the uncanny resemblance between Zhou Tong and Xu Tian; she's terrified that a similar fate awaits Xu Tian. Her distress is palpable as she later frantically washes blood from her hands at the airport, seemingly in a daze. Fang Fang reveals that Shi Diandian suffers from intermittent amnesia triggered by stress and worries her erratic behavior will scare Xu Tian away.
Meanwhile, Wen Xiaoyao's performance is a massive success, but her joy is short-lived. Learning that Zhou Tong is in the hospital, she abandons the post-show interviews and races to his side. In a heart-wrenching moment, Zhou Tong insists on getting up to meet her at the hospital entrance. He manages a weak joke about being smitten since the day they met before collapsing in her arms.
The tragedy deepens when doctors announce they couldn't save Zhou Tong. A devastated Wen Xiaoyao refuses to leave the hospital, consumed by grief. Song Guanwang, collecting his son's belongings, confronts her, blaming her for their recent breakup and telling her to stay out of his life forever. Guilt-ridden, Qiao Mi, who had played a prank on Zhou Tong earlier, tries to apologize to Song Guanwang but is ignored.
In the end, Wen Xiaoyao, shattered by the loss, decides to quit dancing. She feels she has fulfilled her mother's dream by performing as Bai Suzhen, and with Zhou Tong gone, her passion for dance has died with him.
