Episode Summary
After a last-minute, public confession of love from Wen Xiaoyao, Zhou Tong cancels his plans to go abroad and rushes to her performance. His journey is cut short when a shocking encounter with his doppelgänger, Xu Tian, leaves him distracted at a crosswalk, where he is hit by a truck. Xu Tian's girlfriend, Shi Diandian, secretly abandons the oblivious Xu Tian to accompany the critically injured Zhou Tong to the hospital.

With his bags packed, Zhou Tong says a reluctant goodbye to his father, Song Guanwang, disappointed that he never heard back from Wen Xiaoyao. On his father's advice, he had sent her a message, but she was busy preparing for her performance and her coach, Zhao Gang, forbade her from looking at her phone.
As a final attempt before heading to the airport, Zhou Tong stops by the theater, hoping to see her. He sends another message, but after waiting with no reply, he gives up and leaves. At the same time, Xu Tian and his girlfriend, Shi Diandian, are driving to Zhou Tong’s house, with Xu Tian feeling nervous about the impending meeting.
Just as Zhou Tong leaves for the airport, Wen Xiaoyao finally gets a break. Seeing his message saying he was waiting at the entrance, she frantically runs out to find him, but it's too late. Meanwhile, Song Guanwang, sensing his son's unhappiness, calls Zhou Tong and encourages him to turn back if he truly has feelings for Wen Xiaoyao. Moved by his father's words, Zhou Tong decides to head home.
As Song Guanwang is downstairs, he sees his son return and assumes he was never serious about leaving—until he notices a strange woman with him. This woman is Xu Tian. She politely introduces herself, but Song Guanwang, confused, tells her that Zhou Tong has already left for the airport. Struck by her uncanny resemblance to his family, he invites her inside to wait, while Shi Diandian remains in the car.
At the airport gate, Zhou Tong is about to send one last message when he receives a video call from Wen Xiaoyao. In the middle of a press interview, she confesses that she has fallen for him. She tells the reporters that meeting him was essential for her to truly understand and portray her character, Bai Suzhen. Overjoyed and with his feelings reaffirmed, Zhou Tong immediately turns around, determined to see her performance.
Back at the house, Song Guanwang learns about the hardships Xu Tian has faced, having lost her mother at a young age. Before she leaves, she asks to see Zhou Tong's room, but his father politely declines, saying it's too messy.
On his way back from the airport, Zhou Tong calls his father again, this time to invite him to the show. It's then that Song Guanwang mentions a visitor named Xu Tian had just been there. Zhou Tong is stunned. At that exact moment, he is stuck in rush-hour traffic and decides to take the subway. After getting out of the station, he crosses a busy intersection and comes face-to-face with Shi Diandian, who is leading a blindfolded Xu Tian.
Shi Diandian sees Zhou Tong but is too afraid to let Xu Tian remove his blindfold. As they pass each other, Zhou Tong is completely distracted by the impossible encounter. He remains frozen on the crosswalk, even as the light turns green, and is tragically hit by a truck.
Terrified, Shi Diandian quickly pulls Xu Tian into a nearby restaurant. Making an excuse that she needs to use the restroom, she runs back outside and gets into the ambulance with Zhou Tong. When Song Guanwang calls his son's phone, it's Shi Diandian who answers, telling him about the accident. In the restaurant, Xu Tian waits, completely unaware, calling for a girlfriend who left her phone behind and will never return.
