"Rose and Gun" Episode 14: A Daring Rescue
The episode kicks off with the tense conclusion of the first stage of an international military competition. As members from various teams begin to surface due to oxygen supply issues, Zong Qing grows worried for his teammate, Wu Si, who has yet to appear. Fearing Wu Si's oxygen tank has malfunctioned, Zong Qing dives back into the water without a second thought. It is later revealed that the oxygen tank "accidents" were a deliberate test by the assessment team to gauge the special forces' response to a crisis.
Meanwhile, Tang Xin and Lan Yangyang find themselves deep in a dense forest. The howl of a wolf sends them running in fear. After finding a safe, flat area, Tang Xin sets up a tent for them to rest for the night.
The next day, the military competition resumes and reaches its intense finale, with many elite soldiers being eliminated. Wu Si leads his team to a triumphant victory, and they are all ecstatic. Their celebration is cut short by a call from the embassy; a Chinese citizen has gone missing, and Wu Si's team is requested to assist in the search. The missing person is Tang Xin. Following orders, Wu Si and his team quickly head to her last known location. As they are assisting local police, they are required to be unarmed and respectfully surrender their weapons. The forest is vast with numerous diverging paths, prompting Wu Si to split his team into two groups to increase their chances of finding her.
Lost and disoriented, Tang Xin and Lan Yangyang stumble upon a small creek. The discovery of a water source lifts their spirits, as it means they can survive longer. Back on the search, the police officer accompanying Wu Si becomes too exhausted to continue. Due to the urgency of the situation, Wu Si leaves the officer to rest and presses on with only Zong Qing.
Still unable to find a way out of the woods, Tang Xin decides to let Lan Yangyang rest while she scouts for an exit alone. She cleverly leaves a trail of markers to avoid getting lost. Wu Si and Zong Qing discover these signs and immediately recognize them as Tang Xin's. Following the trail, they first locate a relieved Lan Yangyang. Zong Qing and Lan Yangyang share an emotional embrace upon reuniting. After learning that Tang Xin went off on her own, Wu Si immediately dashes off in the direction she took.
While resting, Tang Xin is suddenly confronted by a wolf. Alone and terrified, she can only scream as the animal slowly approaches. In the nick of time, Wu Si appears. Using his survival skills, he scares the wolf away, saving a shaken Tang Xin and carrying her to safety on his back.
