The episode kicks off with Bai Zijian giving a lecture on underwater archaeology, but Tang Xin is soon distracted by a message from Wu Si. He wants to meet and discuss the attempt on her life. During their meeting, Wu Si lays out his theory: someone deliberately drugged Tang Xin's drink, and the person behind it is likely connected to Han Yutian, aiming to halt her investigation.
This leaves Tang Xin with more questions than answers. If the goal was to stop her, why not resort to a more permanent solution? And if Han Changzhou was the orchestrator, what was Han Yuhang doing on the boat? Wu Si speculates that Han Yuhang's presence might have been an unforeseen complication, suggesting that he and Han Changzhou are not working together. This conversation leads Tang Xin to reconsider her previous judgment of Han Yuhang, suspecting he might be innocent of his brother's crimes. However, she's still puzzled about how he obtained the informant's email address.
Later, the whole group gathers to help Lin Lan pack as she is discharged from the hospital. Seizing the moment, Lin Lan tries to play matchmaker for Wu Si and Tang Xin. Seeing everyone together, Tang Xin suggests they take a group photo. Noticing the lingering tension between the two, Yi Nanwang steps in. He shows Tang Xin a heartfelt video that Wu Si recorded for her during a past escort mission. The gesture works wonders; Tang Xin's anger melts away, and she embraces Wu Si, putting an end to their quarrel.
Meanwhile, Lan Yangyang is at a crossroads, contemplating a return to her medical career but unsure whether to join a military or civilian hospital. She seeks advice from Dr. Qiu, who takes the opportunity to discuss Zong Qing's medical case. Lan Yangyang is alarmed to learn about the extent of Zong Qing's injuries. Dr. Qiu also reveals that Zong Qing is silently grieving the loss of their child, sharing in her sorrow more than he lets on. In a quiet moment, Zong Qing is seen alone in his room, overcome with grief as he looks at the clothes and gifts they had prepared for their baby.
Elsewhere, Han Changzhou's internal investigation into a corporate leak hits a dead end. His thoughts turn to Xu Genshui, a long-deceased former employee. Deciding to pay his respects, Han Changzhou visits the grave, only to discover that someone else has been tending to it.
The web of relationships continues to tangle. Han Yuhang invites Wu Si and Tang Xin to dinner as a thank-you for his rescue. Wu Si is reluctant, aware of Han Yuhang's feelings for Tang Xin. However, Tang Xin insists they go, seeing it as a chance to make her relationship with Wu Si clear. The dinner takes an unexpected turn when Han Yutian appears. He immediately starts probing Wu Si for details about his family and his military duties. Bound by confidentiality, Wu Si deflects the questions and decides to leave. The episode closes with Wu Si back at the base, having a candid conversation with Zong Qing.
