Episode Summary
In this episode, Han Yutian sets a trap for Tang Xin using her informant, but the plot is foiled by a timely police rescue, leaving Tang Xin hospitalized. The informant makes a shocking confession: he is Xu Genshui, who faked his death and changed his appearance. Wu Si rushes to Tang Xin's side, while Han Yuhang confronts his brother over the failed scheme, and the episode concludes with the unexpected arrival of Tang Xin's father at the hospital.

Rose and Gun Episode 26: A Trap is Sprung
The net begins to close around Tang Xin as Han Yutian's surveillance pays off. His men, watching Xu Genshui's grave, identify the informant feeding Tang Xin information and begin tailing him. Meanwhile, Tang Xin, determined to uncover the identity of her kidnapper, meets with Han Yuhang. She tries to subtly probe him for information, but he remains tight-lipped, clearly worried for her safety. He suggests she give him her leads so he can investigate on her behalf.
Han Yutian's men successfully capture the informant, a man named Wei Jiangnan, and discover email correspondence between him and Tang Xin. In a lighter moment, Tang Xin has dinner with Lan Yangyang, who reveals her new career plan. She intends to return to medicine, aiming to become an anesthesiologist—the most demanding specialty. Since the military hospital has paused recruitment until next year, she'll start as a resident at the same hospital where Lin Lan gave birth.
The situation escalates when Bai Zijian is giving a lecture on underwater salvage at the news center. Tang Xin receives an urgent message from Wei Jiangnan, demanding an immediate meeting. Sensing something is amiss, Tang Xin tries to get backup, messaging Wu Si to ask him to come with her. Unfortunately, Wu Si is in the middle of training and doesn't have his phone.
Forced to go alone, Tang Xin cautiously proceeds, sending photos of her surroundings to Wu Si as a precaution. Unbeknownst to her, Han Yuhang has been monitoring his brother and learns of Han Yutian's dangerous plan. As Tang Xin approaches the meeting spot, she realizes it's a trap and turns to flee. A group of men give chase, and in her panic, she falls. Just as they are about to grab her, the police arrive and rescue her.
Back at the base, Wu Si finishes his training and sees Tang Xin's messages. He calls her immediately and is shocked to learn she has been hospitalized due to her injuries. Without hesitation, Wu Si requests and is granted leave from Brigade Commander Wang to go to her side.
A furious Han Yuhang confronts his brother, Han Yutian, demanding to know why he targeted Tang Xin. He informs him that both Tang Xin and Wei Jiangnan are now with the police, leaving Han Yutian stunned that his plan failed. At the police station, the biggest secret is revealed: Wei Jiangnan confesses that he is actually Xu Genshui, having undergone plastic surgery and changed his name to save his own life.
At the hospital, Wu Si lovingly cares for Tang Xin. She expresses her gratitude, admitting that his earlier advice to always be cautious and report her plans is what saved her this time. To avoid worrying her parents, she calls her mother and tells her she's away on an urgent business trip. Lan Yangyang also rushes to the hospital to visit after hearing the news from Zong Qing.
The family drama intensifies as Han Changzhou blames Han Yuhang for the disastrous turn of events and suggests sending him abroad to keep him out of trouble. In another part of the hospital, Zong Qing helps Wang Chen with his physical therapy. Lan Yangyang joins them after seeing Tang Xin, but the considerate Wang Chen tries to give the couple some space. Zong Qing, however, insists on staying.
The episode ends on a lighter, yet tense, note. Wu Si and Tang Xin are sharing a sweet moment when their friend Cheng Yuan drops by. Wu Si asks him to take a photo of them, but Tang Xin, without any makeup on, refuses. As the three are laughing, Tang Xin's father makes a surprise entrance. She instinctively dives under the bed to hide, but her father quickly discovers her.
