The investigation into Tang Xin's kidnapping intensifies as Wu Si helps her connect the dots, while personal relationships are tested and strengthened through shared hardships and heartfelt reconciliations.
The episode opens with Bai Zijian giving a lecture on underwater archaeology to Tang Xin and others. During the class, Tang Xin receives a message from Wu Si, who wants to meet and help her figure out who was behind her attempted kidnapping.
When they meet, Tang Xin is still pretending to be upset with him. Wu Si lays out his analysis: someone deliberately drugged her drink to knock her out. He believes the person behind the plot is connected to Han Yutian and that their goal was to stop her investigation. Tang Xin questions this theory, wondering why they wouldn't just kill her if they wanted to stop her. She's also puzzled by Han Yuhang's presence on the ship if his relative, Han Changzhou, was the one who ordered the kidnapping. Wu Si suggests that Han Yuhang and Han Changzhou might be in different factions and that Han Yuhang's appearance could have been an unforeseen complication for the kidnappers. This conversation leads Tang Xin to reconsider her previous judgment of Han Yuhang, suspecting she may have wrongly accused him of being involved in Han Yutian's artifact theft. However, she remains curious about how Han Yuhang obtained the informant's email address.
Meanwhile, everyone gathers to help Lin Lan pack as she is discharged from the hospital. Lin Lan playfully tries to push Wu Si and Tang Xin together. Seizing the moment, Tang Xin suggests they all take a group photo. Noticing the lingering tension between the couple, Yi Nanwang decides to intervene. He shows Tang Xin a video that Wu Si had secretly recorded for her during a naval escort mission. The heartfelt video works its magic; Tang Xin's anger melts away, and she embraces Wu Si, fully reconciling with him.
In a more somber storyline, Lan Yangyang is contemplating a return to her medical career. Unsure whether to join a military or civilian hospital, she seeks advice from Dr. Qiu. During their talk, Dr. Qiu brings up Zong Qing's medical case, revealing that he has suffered multiple injuries, which worries Lan Yangyang. Dr. Qiu also confides in her that Zong Qing is silently grieving the loss of their child and sharing her pain. In a poignant scene, Zong Qing is shown alone in his room, overcome with sorrow as he looks at the baby clothes and gifts he had prepared.
Later, during a holiday, the group gets together. Zong Qing helps Lan Yangyang polish her resume for her job search. In a separate subplot, Cheng Yuan faces a difficult choice. His girlfriend, an enlisted soldier, is due for discharge at the end of the year and wants him to leave the military with her so they can build a life together, but he is deeply reluctant to abandon his service.
Elsewhere, Han Changzhou conducts an internal investigation into a security leak at his company but finds no culprits. His thoughts turn to Xu Genshui, a long-deceased but valuable former employee. While paying respects at Xu Genshui's grave, Han Changzhou is surprised to find that someone else has also been tending to the tombstone.
The web of relationships continues to tangle. Zong Qing and Lan Yangyang visit Lin Lan, who expresses deep guilt, believing that Lan Yangyang’s miscarriage was a result of the late nights she spent helping her. Han Yuhang invites Wu Si to dinner to thank him for his rescue. Wu Si is hesitant, aware of Han Yuhang's feelings for Tang Xin. However, Tang Xin encourages him to go, seeing it as an opportunity to make her relationship with Wu Si clear to Han Yuhang. The dinner for three becomes an awkward foursome when Han Yutian unexpectedly shows up. He immediately starts probing Wu Si for details about his family and his military duties. Citing confidentiality, Wu Si deflects the questions and decides to leave. Later that night, back at the base, he has a heart-to-heart conversation with Zong Qing.
