In this episode, relationships are tested and new bonds are forged amidst personal trials and ongoing investigations. Zong Qing and Lan Yangyang's date gets complicated when they find themselves caught between their friends, Wu Si and Tang Xin. Tang Xin, hoping to get a scoop on a recent rescue mission, bribes Lan Yangyang with bubble tea to probe Zong Qing for details. However, Wu Si anticipates this and messages Zong Qing, ordering him to keep quiet. This sets off a playful but determined battle of wits between Zong Qing and Lan Yangyang, with Zong Qing refusing to spill any information.
Meanwhile, Tang Xin returns to the military base to interview female soldiers, arranged by Wu Si. Her attempts to ask about the rescue are quickly shut down by soldier Wang Chen. The interview then shifts, and Tang Xin gets a profound insight into the immense difficulties and sacrifices of being a female soldier, learning about the tough choices they face between family and duty. The conversation gives Tang Xin a deeper respect for military personnel. The situation intensifies when a woman named Luo Tong appears, aggressively pursuing Wang Chen's husband.
Seeing Wang Chen's distress, Tang Xin decides to intervene. She talks with Luo Tong, secretly recording their conversation to understand the situation better. Wu Si observes this and joins Tang Xin in reasoning with Luo Tong. Through this shared experience of defending Wang Chen's family, a mutual attraction sparks between Wu Si and Tang Xin.Later, Tang Xin makes the principled decision to give the recording to Wu Si, choosing not to use it to prevent the breakup of a good family.
The episode also touches on the personal lives of other characters. Lan Yangyang calls Zong Qing, confiding in him about her dream to pursue her own career path, which conflicts with her father's wish for her to work at a hospital. Wang Chen's husband, Bai Zijian, reveals he has moved to Wenzhou and rented an apartment for them, calling it their shared home. While touched, Wang Chen feels a sense of guilt, believing she is holding him back.
A major highlight is the announcement of the special forces assessment results. Yi Nanwang is led to believe he has failed but shows incredible resilience, vowing to continue training until he can qualify. In a touching reveal, he learns he has passed and is officially welcomed into the Special Forces Brigade, receiving his new armband with tears in his eyes. Wu Si makes the moment even more special by revealing it's also Yi Nanwang's birthday and surprises him with a cake.
The episode concludes with a development in the main investigation, as Tang Xin receives a new clue from her informant, leading her to suspect that the powerful Changzhou Group may be connected to the theft of the cultural relics.
