Homeland Guardian Episode 24 Spoilers: A Hero's Final Drive
The International Financial Summit becomes the stage for a final, explosive confrontation. The villainous Chow Hung sets a two-pronged attack in motion: a "financial bomb" designed to crash the economy, and a personal vendetta against Ho Ho-fai, threatening his family. As the police race against time, the episode unfolds with tense searches, tragic sacrifices, and ultimate redemption.
While one police team scours the summit venue for a physical bomb, another is on a desperate hunt for Chow Hung's accomplice, Anna. In a clever move, the authorities cut the power to the building where she is hiding, claiming it's a simple circuit trip. The ruse works perfectly. When a suspicious Anna and her companion leave their room to investigate, the police immediately identify her and pinpoint her location.
Meanwhile, Chiu Siu-tong is out for a stroll when he spots his "Number 3 car," which he believed was still under repair. A quick call to Leung Yuen-ting confirms his suspicion that something is wrong. He tails the car to the summit but is denied entry by security. He urgently calls Leung Yuen-ting for help, and she comes out to meet him. As they search the vast parking lot, they are unaware of the horrifying truth: Chow Hung's men have already driven the car away, with Choi Cheuk-yan bound and trapped inside.
The action escalates as Ho Ho-fai locates Chow Hung, leading to a fierce gunfight. Simultaneously, Shiu Tsz-chun's team successfully raids Anna's room, arresting her and defusing the financial bomb just in the nick of time. The final showdown takes place on a rooftop where Chow Hung has Ho Ho-fai surrounded. In a cruel replay of the past, he demands that Ho Ho-fai kneel, or the bomb attached to Choi Cheuk-yan will be detonated. Just as a hidden police sniper wounds Chow Hung and damages the detonator, Chow Hung, seeing no escape, commits suicide by triggering the bomb on himself. This act, however, also starts the timer on the bomb strapped to Choi Cheuk-yan.
Just as all hope seems lost, Chiu Siu-tong finds the fake Number 3 car and discovers it's rigged with explosives. Without a moment's hesitation, he smashes the car window and pulls the captive Choi Cheuk-yan to safety. With the bomb seconds from detonation, Chiu Siu-tong makes the ultimate sacrifice. He gets behind the wheel and floors it, driving the car toward the river. In his final moments, he makes a heartbreaking farewell call to Ho Ho-fai, asking him to take care of Red Sister.
With Anna captured, her boss realizes their plan has failed and unleashes a last-ditch effort to destabilize the market. However, Lam To and other business leaders quickly rally. Chow Sai-ho proposes a brilliant counter-strategy: have all the city's stockholders unite and support Lam To's company. Their collective effort to raise the stock by just two points is enough to weather the storm. The EMG financial plan is completely destroyed, thanks to the unity of the people.
In the aftermath, Chiu Siu-tong is mourned as a hero. The next day, the full, unedited video of Ho Ho-fai kneeling to Chow Hung is broadcasted by Lam Wai-yin on the news, finally clearing his name. The footage reveals he did it to save his master's life. The "Number 3 group" honors their fallen friend's last wish by collectively taking care of Red Sister, with Kwan Wing providing constant support. The series concludes with Ho Ho-fai finally reconciling with his wife, his family whole and happy once more.
