In a daring plan, Shiu Tsz-chun disguises himself as Gordon to act as a decoy, successfully drawing away a group of gangsters with the help of Ho Ho-fai. The real Gordon, accompanied by Leung Yuen-ting, takes a different, safer route. However, the situation quickly spirals into chaos when the gangsters realize the deception and a massive brawl erupts, intensified by the arrival of reinforcements called in by Ting Wai.

The fight reaches its peak when Chung Lan-kwun arrives with her own team. Just as things get out of control, Chan Yiu-yeung and the police force intervene, securing the area and taking the real Gordon into custody. The danger isn't over, as a sniper, secretly hired by Anna, takes aim. Chung Lan-kwun spots the threat and shields Gordon with her own body, taking a bullet to the arm. In the aftermath, Ho Ho-fai discovers a shell casing on a nearby rooftop that matches one found at the Sau Shan Village crime scene, linking the events.

At the hospital, Ho Ho-fai visits the recovering Chung Lan-kwun and confronts Chiang Kwun, who had promised to protect her. Ho demands to know who ordered the attack, but Chiang Kwun refuses to talk. Meanwhile, Leung Yuen-ting comforts Shiu Tsz-chun, advising him not to resent Ho Ho-fai over a promotion delay concerning Shiu's father, Shao Feng.

With the murder warrant against him dropped, Gordon is questioned by Chan Yiu-yeung about the USB drive. Distrustful of the police, Gordon remains silent. Concurrently, Lam Wai-yin informs Lin Tao that according to Gordon, the contents of the USB drive reveal the "EMG plan"—an imminent attack on the Hong Kong stock market set to occur in 30 hours. They decide to wait and see if the threat materializes, which would validate Gordon's claims.

Frustrated by Gordon's refusal to cooperate, the police decide to release him. Gordon forgoes police protection and takes a taxi, quickly realizing he's being tailed by plainclothes officers and managing to shake them. He calls Lam Wai-yin, who has found a buyer for the USB. However, on his way to the meeting, Gordon is ambushed and kidnapped by Ah Ken's men.

Learning of the kidnapping, Ho Ho-fai approaches Chiang Kwun directly, urging him to intervene for the sake of Hong Kong's financial stability. Chiang Kwun finds Gordon being brutally tortured by Ah Ken, who reveals the USB's data is critical to the city's economy. A tense standoff occurs when Chiang Kwun demands Gordon's release. He desperately tries to make Ah Ken understand that if the economy collapses, everyone's money will become worthless, even offering his insubordinate underling a substantial reward to prevent disaster.
