Double Fugue: Episode 4 Spoilers

The episode opens with a tense confrontation. Lu Li physically restrains Su Baoyan, grabbing her hand to stop her from moving. She glares at Qin Yuebai, warning her not to get too cocky and vowing to use every trick in the book to get her thrown out. At a signal from Qin Yuebai, Lu Li releases his grip. With a murderous look in her eyes, Su Baoyan storms away, her high heels clicking loudly with every angry step.

It's revealed that Qin Yuebai was not the one who exposed Su Baoyan's private life. She even warns Lu Li to stay out of her conflict with Su Baoyan. Lu Li, having just gotten a taste of Su Baoyan's fierce retaliation for a minor provocation, cautions Qin Yuebai to be careful, noting that their rival is not someone to be taken lightly.

Determined to oust Qin Yuebai, Su Baoyan makes her next move. With the gallery's anniversary party approaching, she invites a roster of top-tier painters and a large number of reporters, aiming to create the impression that she is incredibly well-connected. Seeing Su Baoyan's relentless provocations, Qin Yuebai decides to fight back. She makes a public announcement, claiming she will invite the legendary artist "L" to the party and officially sign a contract with them.

The claim is met with skepticism. Su Baoyan finds it laughable that Qin Yuebai, a newcomer to the gallery, could possibly secure a deal with the highly sought-after L, whom so many have failed to sign. Convinced it's a bluff, Su Baoyan invites even more reporters to the event, anticipating a perfect opportunity to publicly humiliate Qin Yuebai when she fails.

At the party, as Qin Yuebai's deadline arrives, Su Baoyan dramatically places an hourglass on a table. She declares that if Qin Yuebai cannot produce a signed contract with L in thirty minutes, she must make a public apology. Hearing this, a worried Lu Li immediately finds Qin Yuebai. He knows L hasn't agreed to any contract and fears her reckless gamble will backfire spectacularly.

Qin Yuebai is amused by Lu Li's reaction. She explains that she has been watching him closely. She noticed his exceptional powers of observation and his keen sensitivity to color, which allow him to spot forgeries from a distance. More importantly, she observed that whenever the artist L was mentioned, Lu Li became intensely focused, closely monitoring any progress between her and L.

Putting her theory to the test, Qin Yuebai asks Lu Li directly if he is L. Lu Li, who is indeed the famous artist, has a contingency plan. Bound by a mission of revenge, he cannot reveal his true identity and has already arranged for a friend to pose as L. He steadfastly denies her accusation.

Even as Qin Yuebai lays out her detailed observations and logical deductions in her office, Lu Li refuses to admit the truth. With time running out, she cuts the interrogation short. Composed and confident, Qin Yuebai walks to the center of the stage. She holds up a contract for all to see and announces that the gallery has successfully signed the great artist L. When Su Baoyan sees the contract, the triumphant look on her face vanishes, replaced by the cold taste of crisis.
