The Battle for "Daisy": A Game of Wits and Wills
In a tense bid to secure the exhibition rights for a coveted painting named "Daisy," Qin Yuebai finds herself needing to reconnect with her senior colleague, Eric, a man from her past she had resolved to cut ties with. This professional necessity sets off a chain of events, pitting her against a determined and well-funded rival.
The situation is complicated by Su Shilun, who has Qin Yuebai followed. Discovering her goal, he tasks his own daughter, Su Baoyan, with acquiring the rights for "Daisy," promising to give her a gallery if she succeeds. Eager to please her father and win the prize, the easily-persuaded Su Baoyan immediately gets to work.
A meeting between Qin Yuebai and Eric is interrupted by Lu Li, who, aware of their previous romantic involvement, trails them to a coffee shop. Though Lu Li claims to be merely Qin Yuebai's assistant, his intense and protective gaze makes the atmosphere awkward. During the tense get-together, a crucial piece of information is revealed: the artist, Andrew, is difficult to persuade but is in need of a very rare raw ore for his work.
With this vital clue, the race is on. The two rivals take vastly different approaches. Su Baoyan, relying on her family's wealth, instructs her assistant to buy up all the art supplies on the market, believing money can solve any problem. In stark contrast, Qin Yuebai and Lu Li embark on a painstaking search through the city's hidden art alleys. Their hard work pays off when Lu Li astutely spots a stall owner using a piece of the precious ore to prop up a wobbly table. After a quick chat, they discover the owner has several more at his home and they manage to acquire them.
However, when Qin Yuebai arrives to meet Andrew with the ore, she finds she is a step too late. A gloating Su Baoyan is already there, having already presented the artist with materials. Facing defeat, Qin Yuebai brilliantly changes her strategy. She tells Andrew that she is no longer seeking the exhibition rights. Instead, she expresses her profound admiration for his creative spirit and the moving story behind the "Daisy" painting. She explains that she was so touched, she decided she could not "consume the emotion behind the painting" and respectfully withdraws her request.
Deeply moved by Qin Yuebai's sincerity and understanding of his work, Andrew has a change of heart. He turns to a stunned Su Baoyan and informs her that he no longer wishes to exhibit the painting at all. Thwarted and furious, Su Baoyan confronts Qin Yuebai, who savors her victory. In a final, chilling remark, Qin Yuebai states that even if she couldn't have "Daisy," she would never let Su Baoyan get her way.
