"A Forbidden Marriage" Episode 12 Recap: Identities, Betrayals, and a Change of Heart

Episode 12 of A Forbidden Marriage begins with Yang Qing throwing a birthday party for Wang Yue. It's a sweet moment, but here's the catch: it's not actually her birthday. She just made up the date to throw him off her trail. Seeing how happy he is, she decides to just make August 15th her official birthday from now on. During the party, Yang Qing keeps asking some tricky questions, but Wang Yue manages to give him answers that keep him satisfied.

Meanwhile, Yao Fu brings an injured Yuan Yingxing to the safety of Biluo Valley. She’s worried about him, but he’s surprisingly cold and sarcastic towards her. She doesn't seem to mind and focuses on getting him help. Yao Fu meets with her master, Feng Xingyun, who is happy to see her and pushes for her to marry Yang Qing, but Yang Qing flat-out refuses the idea.

Things get messy when Lu Xuanxuan tells her father, the Valley Master, that she saw the Sun Blade and Moon Blade. Desperate to get out of her engagement to Jin Buhuan, she lies and claims she easily tricked Yang Qing into showing her the Alliance Leader's Token. Just as her father is pondering this, Yuan Yingxing crashes the party, wielding the Moon Blade and declaring he'll wash Biluo Valley in blood. He attacks the Valley Master, who, despite having traps in his room, is severely wounded. The Valley Master manages to use a hidden formation to ambush Yuan Yingxing, injuring him badly and forcing him to flee.

Yao Fu finds the unconscious Yuan Yingxing and brings him to her room. He wakes up just as she's about to take the Moon Blade to heal herself and threatens her. But Yao Fu convinces him to stay hidden in her room, pointing out something fishy: the Valley Master hasn't launched a massive search, which probably means he's setting a trap.

She was right. The next day, the Valley Master gathers all the sects, tells them about Yuan Yingxing's attack, and orders a valley-wide search. He even suggests killing innocent Sheng Yue Cult disciples to force Yuan Yingxing out of hiding. Yang Qing is disgusted by this idea, arguing that it's against the code of the righteous sects.

Just as Yang Qing is about to use the Alliance Leader's Token, a flute begins to play. Wang Yue and Ling Yin instantly recognize the tune—it's Yuan Yingxing. The music is powerful enough to injure almost everyone, but Yang Qing's strength protects him. Yuan Yingxing appears and duels with Yang Qing. Already hurt, Yuan is quickly overpowered.

In a shocking twist, Wang Yue rushes in and takes a blow meant for Yuan Yingxing. Yang Qing is heartbroken to see her protect another man. As Wang Yue physically blocks him from finishing Yuan, Yao Fu appears and whisks the injured Yuan away. Wang Yue goes with them, and Yang Qing secretly follows. Later, Wang Yue confronts Yao Fu, even trying to attack her, but Yuan wakes up and knocks Yao Fu out, telling Wang Yue he doesn't want her getting close to Yang Qing.

The next morning, Wang Yue awakens to find Yang Qing waiting for her outside. Cornered, she finally admits her true identity. To her complete surprise, Yang Qing isn't angry. He tells her his opinion of the Sheng Yue Cult has changed, and he's willing to talk things out with Yuan Yingxing.
