A Forbidden Marriage: Episode 15 Recap
Episode 15 of A Forbidden Marriage begins with Yang Qing returning to the Cloud Sect, reporting straight to his master, Feng Xingyun. He admits he failed to bring Yao Fu back, but on the bright side, he stopped Jin Buhuan's crazy plan. Feng Xingyun isn't mad; in fact, he's relieved. But then Yang Qing drops a bombshell: Yuan Yingxing isn't actually dead and is now with Yao Fu. Yang Qing is sure Yuan Yingxing won't hurt her, but Feng Xingyun doesn't buy their supposed connection and wants to hunt Yuan Yingxing down.
After that heavy conversation, Yang Qing pivots and asks for permission to marry Yang Wangyue. Feng Xingyun is having none of it. He thinks Wangyue is just a "village girl" and completely unworthy of Yang Qing. He's so annoyed that he orders Yang Qing into confinement to think about what he's done.
So, Yang Qing goes on a hunger strike in his room. For three whole days, he doesn't eat or drink. Feng Xingyun is secretly worried, but after hearing from Jiang Yan that Wangyue has an uncle in the Sheng Yue Cult (even though she's cut ties), he becomes even more against the marriage. He sees them as total opposites, like "clouds and mud."
Meanwhile, Yang Wangyue is worried because she hasn't seen Yang Qing in three days. She finds him locked up and he explains he's doing this to win his master's approval for their marriage—the more pitiful he looks, the more likely his master will give in. Wangyue is touched, but then Jiang Yan shows up and suggests the punishment is for failing the mission with Yao Fu. Just like that, Wangyue feels like Yang Qing has lied to her all over again.
In the middle of all this drama, a new player arrives. Lu Xuanxuan is sent to the Cloud Sect by Lu Jin, pretending to be a medicine expert. Her real mission is to find out if the sect's precious Moon Blade is missing. If it is, they can challenge the Cloud Sect's status as the Alliance Leader. To help her, Lu Jin gives her a powerful martial arts manual, the "Liuhe Divine Art," which she hopes will also impress Yang Qing.
Feng Xingyun decides to deal with Wangyue himself. He summons her, blames her for distracting Yang Qing, and tries to send her packing back to Yangliu Town. Wangyue refuses to leave. Feng Xingyun insists that Yao Fu is the better match, but Wangyue fires back, calling Yao Fu a snake-hearted woman who seduced the leader of the Sheng Yue Cult. When Feng Xingyun defends Yao Fu's actions as a sacrifice for the sect, Wangyue cleverly asks if he'd feel the same way if someone seduced a Cloud Sect member. Stumped, and now thoroughly annoyed by Wangyue demanding a pile of money to leave, Feng Xingyun kicks her out.
Furious and hurt, Wangyue is leaving when Jiang Yan catches up to her. She asks him who he thinks is better, her or Yao Fu. When he reluctantly sides with Yao Fu, Wangyue snaps. That's when she spots a recruitment notice for the Cloud Sect and, on impulse, decides to join. Jiang Yan warns her that this will make her Yang Qing's "martial niece," putting them in different generations and making marriage impossible. She doesn't care and signs up anyway.
Naturally, all hell breaks loose. Jiang Yan runs to tell Yang Qing, who rushes to stop her, but it's too late. She's officially a new disciple. Feng Xingyun is furious but can't exactly kick her out in front of everyone. His new plan? Wait for the monthly exam and get rid of her when she fails.
This, of course, leads to a massive fight between Yang Qing and Yang Wangyue. He's livid that she's now his martial niece, effectively ruining his grand plan. He tells her he was five days into his hunger strike and his master was about to cave, but her impulsive decision destroyed everything. He lists all the little things he does for her that show how much he cares, while she doesn't even know his favorite foods. Wangyue, completely missing the point, thinks it's fun to call him "Martial Uncle" and blames him for not explaining his plan. They part on terrible terms.
Later, Yang Qing tries to teach the new disciple Lu Xuanxuan some sword techniques to make Wangyue jealous. But he quickly notices something is off. When Lu Xuanxuan masters the moves instantly, he sees the veins on her arm bulge and suspects she's using some kind of dark power. He presses her to show him again, but she gets flustered and quickly makes an excuse to leave.
