Wang Qi Cheng felt pretty good about herself, talking to reporters like she was in charge. But she had no idea what was waiting for her. Dong Yi Yan left her a nasty surprise. The company was drowning in debt that needed to be paid immediately.
Dong Yi Yan's Counter-Move
Dong Yi Yan doesn't just give up, though. She immediately makes a new plan. She finds a guy named Dai De Qiao and they go racing. Then she makes her pitch. She wants him to buy out Ming Lang hospital. She tells him he can get it for the lowest price, making it a deal he can't lose.
A Murder Investigation Begins
It Wasn't An Accident
Things get a lot more serious for Dong Yi Yan. She gets a phone call that changes everything. The plane crash that killed her husband and family was not an accident. It was murder.
The Blue Moon Mystery
This news sends her digging into her husband's life. She has his assistant check the hotel he stayed at before he died. They find something interesting. A woman using the fake name "Blue Moon" received flowers from him. The card with the flowers said, "My only one." This, of course, makes Dong Yi Yan start to wonder if her husband was hiding someone else.
The Widows Turn On Each Other
The police get involved. They call in Dong Yi Yan, Chen Li Xue, and Wen Yi Jia for individual questioning. All three women now know their family members were murdered. Unsurprisingly, they all start suspecting each other.
The Hospital Hits The Skids
A Scapegoat and a Leak
Back at the hospital, Wang Qi Cheng is proving she can't handle the job. She's making a mess of things. It gets so bad that her aunt, Ms. Wan, flies in from Hong Kong just to yell at her. Ke Yongcheng, ever the opportunist, tells Wang Qi Cheng to just find a scapegoat to blame for the problems.
Then, a new crisis hits. A VIP patient, Wei Xiao Tang, shows up for a donation event, but Dong Yi Yan notices his hand is shaking. He needs surgery, but he's terrified the news will tank his company's stock. He demands total secrecy. It doesn't work. Before the surgery can even start, reporters are swarming the hospital. We learn that Wang Qi Cheng's own husband was the one who leaked the news.
Dong Yi Yan steps up and takes control of the situation. She tells Wei Xiao Tang to go out, tell the reporters he's fine, and then get back to the hospital before he's in real danger. He does it, and his appearance accidentally becomes great publicity for Ming Lang.
The Boardroom Bloodbath
Ke Yongcheng is about to leave for a conference when he hears there's a move to get him fired. He rushes back, but it's too late. Ms. Wan has proof that he was the one talking to reporters. She pulls out the chat logs for everyone to see.
Wang Qi Cheng fires Ke Yongcheng on the spot. Then, in a fantastic twist, her aunt fires her too. Wang Qi Xin sees the writing on the wall and resigns her position. Ms. Wan says she believes Dong Yi Yan is the only one who truly cares about Ming Lang. She's choosing to help the business instead of her family.
