Double Track Puzzle: Episode 16 Spoilers
Alright, let's get into it. This episode was a mess in the best way possible. Everyone is making moves. Some are smart. Others are just desperate.
Han Weidong's New Career Goes Sideways
So, Han Weidong is officially out of the police force. He starts his own company, Xinghua. It seems like a clean break. But then he gets a call from the infamous Mr. Jiang. Jiang wants him to transport some drugs. Han Weidong immediately refuses. He’s not getting back into that life.
Here's the kicker, though. Mr. Jiang just laughs. He tells Han Weidong that his company already transported the goods. It happened a few days ago, right under his nose. Han Weidong is already in it. He's been played, and now he's stuck.
Zhan Peng Turns Up the Heat
Zhan Peng has been busy. He's gathered all the intel on Qi Lianshan and his crew. He plans to arrest them all in Xiatong. His first move is to break Lang Bu. He brings him in for a surprise interrogation. Lang Bu tries to play dumb. He literally pretends he's a mute.
Zhan Peng isn't buying it for a second. He lays out a story from years ago. A family of five, the Du Kans, were murdered. Only four bodies were ever found. A child escaped. Zhan Peng tells Lang Bu that Qi Lianshan adopted that missing kid. And that kid grew up to be him. He tells Lang Bu it's a bad idea to treat your family's killer like a father.
The Triple-Cross
San Ma Hu heads out of town to meet with Da Fei. This meeting is on Qi Lianshan's orders. It's all just a normal transaction on the surface. But it's a total setup. Xu Laizi has an informant watching the whole thing. The informant immediately tells Xu Laizi that San Ma Hu is out of town. Xu Laizi then scrambles to pass this news to Tu Hongjiang.
They think they're one step ahead. They're not. San Ma Hu put a tracker in the bag of money. He's leaking his own location to the police.
Meanwhile, Han Weidong has his own angle. He tells Sun Ge he's going to use this opportunity. He'll have the police grab San Ma Hu on his way back. This saves him the trouble of doing it himself. He sends Xiao Sheng to tip off the cops. Sun Ge takes this a step further. He tells Xiao Sheng to just kill San Ma Hu. This puts Xiao Sheng in a terrible position.
All Hell Breaks Loose at the Train Station
Everything comes to a head at the train station. It's a total circus.
The Cops
Zhan Peng's team is tracking Qi Lianshan's dealers. They almost blow their cover but use the tracker to relocate them. Xiao Sheng, trying to score points, tells Zhan Peng that San Ma Hu is on the T631 train. Tu Hongjiang is already on that train. The rest of the team, including Zhan Peng and Han Xin, head to the station. Han Xin checks a car in the parking garage but doesn't see Qi Lianshan. He's hiding in the back.
The Target
Qi Lianshan sneaks onto the platform after the cops pass. Zhan Peng spots him disguised as an old man. The moment Qi Lianshan knows he's been made, he causes chaos. He hurts a bystander to create a diversion and bolts. Once he's clear, he calls his men. The new plan is simple. Kill San Ma Hu right there at the station.
The Prey
San Ma Hu is sharp. He hears Qi Lianshan escaped and knows that puts a target on his back. He tries to slip away by disguising himself as an employee. It doesn't work. Qi Lianshan's men find him in a bathroom. A brutal fight breaks out. San Ma Hu is a better fighter and knocks his attacker out cold. He then jumps off the train.
Cornered
San Ma Hu knows something is still wrong. He calls Bai Tao Hua for an emergency pickup. He hides out in a scrap factory to wait. It's a trap. Qi Lianshan and his crew show up and surround him. San Ma Hu grabs a pipe, ready to go down swinging.
Just then, Bai Tao Hua arrives. She runs toward the chaos, calling out for "Brother Shan." She says she wants to come back to him. For San Ma Hu, hearing this is the worst thing that could have happened. He knows he's in more danger than ever.
