The Great Divorce Misunderstanding
A Desperate Plan
Sun Jiayu and her brother get home to an empty house. Their parents are gone. Jiayu calls her dad. He tells her they are at the Civil Affairs Bureau. The kids immediately panic. They think their parents are getting a divorce.
Jiayu does not handle this well. She hatches a truly terrible plan. She swaps out a drink for dish soap. Then she finds Liu Guoning. She tells him to call an ambulance right after she drinks it. Luckily, Liu Guoning has a brain. He snatches the bottle away from her. He tells her there has to be a better way to solve this.
Liu Guoning then goes to his own dad for help. He's genuinely worried Jiayu is going to hurt herself. At the same time, Jiayu's brother, Sun Jiaxin, finds Ma Ziheng. Jiaxin is a wreck. This reminds Ma Ziheng of how he felt when his own parents split up. He decides he has to help. He agrees to take Jiaxin to find his mom.
The Search Party
The kids' dad, Old Sun, gets a text message. It says Sun Jiaxin is on his way to find his mom. Old Sun immediately calls Jiayu to see if her brother is still at home. He isn't. Liu Guoning and Jiayu rush home and find it empty. Old Sun gets there soon after. He shows Liu Guoning the phone number that sent the text. Liu Guoning recognizes it. It's Ma Ziheng's number.
They call Ma Ziheng's mom, Tang Xiaowei. They ask her to use the location tracking on his smartwatch. Liu Xiangshang piles everyone into the car to go find the boys. Just as they get a lock, Ma Ziheng trips getting off a bus. His watch breaks. The signal is gone. The parents are now driving blind. They head toward the last known location, hoping for the best.
The boys, meanwhile, borrow a phone from a stranger. They manage to call Sun Jiaxin's mom. It turns out they went to the completely wrong place. The mom works at the Geological College. The kids went to the Geological Bureau. Eventually, the parents track them down. Everyone is safe.
The Truth Comes Out
So, about that divorce. It was never happening. Old Sun explains everything. They went to the government office to fix a typo on their marriage certificate. His name is Sun Wancheng. The certificate incorrectly said Sun Fangcheng. That's it. That was the whole emergency.
The kids' mom promises them they would never divorce. She says they haven't even had a fight in years. They would definitely talk to their kids before making a huge life change. This whole mess makes the parents realize they've been absent. The mom has already applied for a transfer at work. She's taking a job that doesn't require travel. This means less money, but Old Sun says he can just work more. She feels that if she doesn't spend time with her kids now, she'll lose the chance completely.

Back at home, Tang Xiaowei gives Ma Ziheng a lecture. What he did was incredibly dangerous. But then they have a real talk. Ma Ziheng explains why he helped Sun Jiaxin. It was because he remembered his own pain. He tells his mom that while he'd love for his parents to get back together, he wants her to be happy more. He says she shouldn't do it just for him. Tang Xiaowei is really moved by her son's maturity.
A Secret Uncovered
Shiwu gets more suspicious about his dad's behavior. He asks Chuyi to keep an eye on him. He learns his dad has started smoking and drinking again in secret. Shiwu goes to his dad's company. He finds out the business is in serious financial trouble.
In another house, things are also falling apart. Dai Jing and Liu Guobao have a huge fight. She has been ignoring his needs, and he calls her out on it. A devastated Dai Jing goes downstairs to cry by herself. She leaves her phone behind. Liu Xiangshang answers a call for her. While he has the phone, he sees a text notification. It's a message telling Dai Jing she has been laid off. She's been hiding this from the entire family. Liu Xiangshang realizes he hasn't been a supportive husband. He thinks it's time for the family to start paying more attention to her.
