Episode Summary
In this episode, Shiwu cancels his plans to study abroad to help his family and proves his maturity during a medical emergency with his father. Liu Guoning and Sun Jiayu navigate their friendship while getting a tough lesson in childcare. The episode ends with the reveal that Jiayu's family is moving, a fact she hasn't yet told a clueless Guoning.

Shiwu Steps Up for His Family
This was really Shiwu's episode to shine. He's been on the sidelines for a bit, but he came through in a big way.
The Study Abroad Plan is Off
Shiwu went ahead and canceled his study abroad application. He did it all on his own. His teacher called Tingting to let her know, which led to a big family meeting.
Shiwu handed a bank card back to his dad, Lao Yang. He didn't just return the money. He added his own allowance to it. He told them the family's financial crisis isn't over yet, so he's staying in China. You could see Tingting and Lao Yang were a little disappointed for him. But they were also incredibly proud. Their son finally gets it. He understands the sacrifices they've been making.
A Graduation and a Hospital Dash
We then jump to graduation season. Shiwu manages to get a photo with Mary, which was a nice little moment for him. Tingting, who is still clearly unwell, makes sure to be there for her son's big day. She brings Lao Yang and little Chu Yi along. Chu Yi even gives Shiwu a drawing as a gift.
Mary offers to take a picture of the whole family. As she's about to take the shot, Lao Yang suddenly collapses with severe stomach pain. They all rush to the hospital, but they get stuck in traffic. Shiwu doesn't even think twice. He just hoists his dad onto his back and runs the rest of the way to the hospital entrance.
It turns out to be appendicitis, and Lao Yang is taken into surgery. After all the chaos, Tingting and Lao Yang both have the same thought. Shiwu is becoming the rock of the family. He can handle a crisis.
The Kids Are (Almost) Alright
The other kids are also having their own "growing up" moments, mostly by being forced to babysit.
Guoning and Jiayu's "Bros" Phase
Dai Jing decides to clear the air. She talks to Liu Xiangshang about Liu Guoning and Sun Jiayu's close relationship. Then she goes straight to the source and asks Guoning what's going on. He's adamant that they're just friends. He even calls her one of his "bros."
Liu Xiangshang is surprisingly cool with it. He believes that boys and girls can have purely platonic friendships. He also points out that since Guoning started hanging out with Jiayu, his grades have shot up. You can't really argue with that logic.
A Taste of Parenthood
Later, Guoning and Jiayu get a dose of reality. They try to help their younger siblings with homework. It is a complete and utter failure. The little kids are running wild. They eventually give up and lock themselves in their room. Guoning and Jiayu are left totally drained on the sofa.
When their parents get home, Liu Guobao immediately complains that Guoning was the one causing trouble. Guoning defends himself. He also admits that he finally understands how hard his parents work. Dai Jing looks at him and feels like her son just aged a few years in one afternoon.
Big Changes for the Sun Family
Just as some friendships are getting stronger, they're about to be tested by distance.
A Move to Guiyang
Sun Jiayu's mom gets some bad news. Her application to transfer her job back home was rejected. This leads Jiayu's dad to make a massive decision. He's quitting his job. He's packing up the kids and moving them all to Guiyang to be closer to their mom.
Jiayu is devastated. The idea of moving again and leaving Liu Guoning and Dabai is crushing her. Her little brother, Sun Jiaxin, is thrilled at the idea of living with their mom. So Jiayu is the only one in the family who is completely miserable.
A Graduation Gift Request
Jiayu and Guoning are also graduating from their school. As the class president, Jiayu presents their teacher with flowers. Meanwhile, Guoning is stressing out about what to get everyone for graduation. He figures he doesn't need to get anything special for Jiayu or Dabai. In his mind, they'll all stick together and go to the same middle school anyway. He has no clue she's about to move across the country.
Jiayu then makes things more complicated. She tells Guoning that she wants a special graduation gift, just from him. This sends Guoning, who was already clueless, into a full-on panic.
