Spoiler Alert
The Grandpa Showdown
The episode kicks off with Diao Zimo, who is still upset about his grandfather's behavior. He's embarrassed. So after school, he tells his grandpa he doesn't want to be picked up anymore. This just confuses the old man. He decides the other kids must be the problem.
So, he waits by the school gate, ready to confront Ma Ziheng and his friends. But Ma Yingjie and Tang Xiaowei are there, too. Before things can even start, Liu Guoning shows up with his own little crew. They're holding signs that say "refuse secondhand smoke." It's a full-on kid protest.
This sends the grandpa over the edge. He gets furious and tries to swing at Liu Guoning. Tang Xiaowei jumps in front of the kids to block him.
An Accident and a Reality Check
The Crash
All this chaos brings out the school's teachers and security guards. A teacher tells the grandfather to stop making a scene. Seeing an adult tell his grandpa he's wrong finally makes it click for Diao Zimo. He realizes his grandpa was the one out of line and runs back into the school crying.
Defeated, the grandpa gets on his tricycle to leave. He isn't paying attention and rides against the flow of traffic. Sure enough, a bike slams right into him. And in a twist of fate, it's Ma Yingjie and Tang Xiaowei who have to take him to the hospital.
The Apology
At the hospital, the police show up. They determine the accident was entirely the grandpa's fault. He's on the hook for any damages. This, finally, is his wake-up call.
He apologizes to Ma Yingjie and Tang Xiaowei for everything. He even thanks them for their help. He tells them he's decided to go back to his hometown once he's out of the hospital. They won't see him at the school gate again.
Tang Xiaowei doesn't let him off that easy, though. She gives him a piece of her mind. She explains that parents are a mirror for their children. The kids weren't picking on Diao Zimo. They were worried he would end up just like his grandpa. She also had some choice words for the boy's father, telling him he can't just abandon his son with the grandparents and expect everything to be fine. He's half responsible for this mess.
Payback for the Neighbors
The noisy neighbors, who I call the "Radish Couple," haven't changed at all. Liu Xiangshang decides he's had enough. He's got some free time, and he's going to use it to solve this problem.
His plan is simple. First, he calls their landlord. Then, he teams up with Ma Yingjie's family, who conveniently live right above the couple. They decide to give the neighbors a taste of their own medicine by making a ton of noise.
It works. The couple storms upstairs to complain and finds themselves face-to-face with people they know. The husband, Bu Cheng, seems ready to call a truce. His wife, Luo Fei, still thinks she's done nothing wrong.
Just then, the landlord arrives with the head of the parent-teacher committee. The police show up, too. It turns out Liu Xiangshang wasn't the only one complaining. The entire building has been reporting the noise. The landlord threatens to evict them. Since they need to stay in the area for their kid's school, they finally cave and apologize.
Group Chat Chaos
The last bit of drama revolves around the parent group chat. The teachers keep assigning tasks that are clearly meant for the parents, not the students. They also post these assignments at random times, making it impossible for parents to keep up.
The parents are all complaining about it. But they only do it in a separate, private chat that doesn't have any teachers in it. Tang Xiaowei gets tired of the whining. She goes into the private chat and tells everyone to stop complaining behind the teachers' backs. She says if they have a problem, they should say it in the official group chat where the teachers can actually see it.
