It's late, so a nurse is asleep at the desk and the halls are empty. He slips into the mother's hospital room. A moment later, Mo Yuanzhi gets a text. It says the job is done.

Ding Qi's Counter-Move

But it was all a setup. Ding Qi was one step ahead. Seven hours earlier, he was waiting at the hospital. He had already moved An Lan's mother to a different, safe room. The room Ye Kun entered was empty. Ding Qi was the one who sent Mo Yuanzhi the "job is done" text. He catches Ye Kun red-handed. After this, Ding Qi finally tells An Lan everything. Looper vs. Looper

The Tense Car Ride

The next morning, it's the fifth loop day. Ding Qi goes to Mo Yuanzhi's house. The pretense is gone. They both know.Later, Ding Qi drives them to the university. He flat-out accuses Mo Yuanzhi of killing Tang Shaorong. Mo tries to deny it but messes up his words. He gets cocky, telling Ding Qi there's no proof. Ding Qi ignores that. He just says, "You only have 28 days left." That hits a nerve. Mo Yuanzhi's face falls. An Lan had told Ding Qi that the nitrogen used to preserve Feng Wanqing has a time limit. The number 28 on Mo's desk is a countdown to save her.

How They Knew

The confessions start spilling out. Ding Qi asks Mo why he caused a scene at the wedding during the second loop. Mo admits he was trying to find the person who was trying to kill him. He was surprised to discover Ding Qi was another person who could perceive the loops. He became certain after the highway detour. Ding Qi then explains how he figured it out. Yu Shiya had told him that Mo Yuanzhi often left home late at night, and the dates matched the loop days.

The Lab's Dark Secret

The biggest reveal comes when they discuss the lab at Qingtengwan University. Mo Yuanzhi finally explains why he wanted Jiang Yuwen dead.

Eight years ago, Jiang Yuwen was dangerously ambitious. He wanted to use his new RAN technology on human subjects. The tech wasn't even proven safe in animal trials. He chose Feng Wanqing as his test subject. Mo Yuanzhi, who was in love with her, fiercely objected. They had a massive argument.

Later, Jiang Yuwen drugged Feng Wanqing without Mo's knowledge. He then showed Mo a consent form she had supposedly signed. Seeing Feng Wanqing unconscious, Mo Yuanzhi completely broke down. Mo tells Ding Qi that Jiang Yuwen is already dead. He then warns Ding Qi to worry about An Lan.
