Episode Summary
Mo Yuanzhi's manipulation of Feng Qiming is revealed through a flashback. In the present loop, Ding Qi is suspended but learns Mo Yuanzhi's true target is an investor named Maggie. The episode ends with Mo Yuanzhi kidnapping Tang Xin and murdering Han Yufei, who discovered his secret lab.

Mo Yuanzhi’s Long Game
How It All Started
So, we get a look into the past. Years ago, Mo Yuanzhi got into a group called Yuma. He had the approval of Tang Shaorong and Han Song. But then a lab exploded. After that, Mo Yuanzhi changed the company's name from Yuma to Moma.
He's been telling the world that Moma uses the most advanced tech to test the safety of RAN technology. It's all a front.
The Feng Qiming Connection
We also finally see how Mo Yuanzhi got his hooks into Feng Qiming. After Feng Qiming got out of prison, he was looking for his sister, Feng Wanqing. Mo Yuanzhi found him first. He took him to a secret lab. He showed him his sister, Feng Wanqing, floating in a nitrogen tube.
Then Mo Yuanzhi fed him a story. He said Jiang Yuwen stole some of his data. He also claimed Tang Shaorong and Han Song were trying to steal the rest. He convinced Feng Qiming that helping him was the only way to save his sister. Of course, Feng Qiming agreed.
The Fifth Loop Day
The Investigation Hits a Wall
It's the fifth time-loop day. Mo Yuanzhi starts it by calling the Investigation Department to file a complaint. He's trying to get ahead of things.
An Lan tries to break through to Feng Qiming. She gives him his sister's diary. She tells him that anyone who gets in Mo Yuanzhi's way ends up in a bad spot. It doesn't work. Feng Qiming just doubles down. He insists he doesn't know Mo Yuanzhi and claims that he is the mysterious "Squid."
Ding Qi Gets Sidelined
Ding Qi is trying to move the pieces into place. He tells An Lan to look into a company called Voli. He also puts Yu Peishan on the task of finding Jiang Yuwen, no matter what it takes.
But things go south for Ding Qi fast. He stops a crisis on the highway involving a tired truck driver by setting up a roadblock. His reward? A call from his chief telling him to stand down. Mo Yuanzhi complained about abuse of power.
Ding Qi can't explain why he's doing what he's doing. He gets into it with the chief. The result is a suspension. They take his gun and hold him at the station.
The Trap Is Sprung
An Lan's Discovery
While Ding Qi is detained, An Lan is making moves. She creates a new drug in the hospital lab and puts it in her mother's IV. Then she figures out the big picture.
She tells a now-free Ding Qi (his coworkers helped him sneak out) what's really going on. Voli Company is after RAN technology data from eight years ago. Only Mo Yuanzhi has that data. That's why the investor, Maggie, has to come to Moma. Mo Yuanzhi knows this and is using it to his advantage. His real target is Maggie.
Ding Qi's Side Effect
An Lan asks Ding Qi if he's feeling any side effects from the loops. He finally admits it. He died once already. Cardiac arrest. An Lan explains that the RAN tech attacks the weakest part of the body. It could be an organ or an entire system. She's shaken but promises him she will find a way to stop it.
Duan Zheng, trusting his gut, gives the escaped Ding Qi his gun back. He tells him to find the evidence and call for backup.
The Parking Garage
Everything comes to a head at Moma. Ding Qi calls Duan Zheng. He tells him to protect Tang Xin and Han Yufei. Duan Zheng calls them and tells them to get to the police station immediately.
It's too late.
Mo Yuanzhi is giving Maggie a tour when he spots Tang Xin. He quickly pawns Maggie off on his secretary. He finds Tang Xin in the parking garage, knocks her out, and shoves her in his trunk. He even takes a picture.
But he wasn't alone. Han Yufei recorded the entire thing. Mo Yuanzhi chases him down. Han Yufei tells him to get out of Moma and confess the truth about Han Song's death. Mo Yuanzhi asks if he has any other leverage. Han Yufei makes a fatal mistake. He mentions the secret lab.
Mo Yuanzhi's entire demeanor changes. He attacks Han Yufei and kills him.
