Episode Summary

A Mole in the Works
The episode kicks off with Fang Xueqin absolutely losing his mind. He can't get ahold of Director Wu and is getting seriously angry. He finally gets him on the phone to ask about the documents for the lawsuit.
Here's the problem. Gao Shen already got to Director Wu. He bought him. So, Wu lies straight to Xueqin's face. He insists the medicine Fang Yangtian takes is just plain old vitamins. It's a total dead end for Xueqin.
An Attack and a Rescue
Lin Cheng shows up to thank Gao Shen for his help, paying him with a check. She's sharp. She correctly guesses that he has a mole working for him on Fang Xueqin's side. Gao Shen doesn't deny it.
Later, as Gao Shen leaves his office, three thugs jump him. They are clearly there to kill him. Just when it looks like it's over, Lin Cheng appears out of nowhere and saves his life. The police come to the hospital to ask questions. They want to know if Gao Shen has any enemies. He lies and says nothing about the lab tests that started this whole thing.
The Family Feud
Petty Fights and Jealousy
While the serious drama is happening, Zhijun hears that Jiaxin got plastic surgery. She immediately starts making fun of her. She even pulls out old photos of Jiaxin to show her mother, just to be cruel.
Later that night, Kwong Shan Tsuen gets a call from a girl at the children's home who misses her. Fang Xueli walks in and sees the call. He instantly assumes she's secretly talking to Gao Shen and gets suspicious. She has to show him the phone number just to prove she's not cheating. He finally backs off.
A Shady Breakfast Meeting
The next morning, Kwong Wai Leung meets Gao Shen for breakfast. He pretends he knows nothing about the attack. He then "helpfully" suggests the person who ordered the hit was some woman named Mary. After that, he tries to terminate his contract with Gao Shen. The timing is more than a little suspicious.
The Lawsuit Vote
A Desperate Plea
Fang Ziyin is desperate to get her grandmother to drop the lawsuit against Fang Yangtian. She tries to soften her up by playing her favorite Cantonese opera records. Jiang Huanqiu also steps in, trying to convince the old woman that family harmony is what's most important. Old Mrs. Fang thinks about it. She decides to let the siblings vote on whether to move forward with the case.
A Shocking Reversal
Fang Ziyin sets up a meeting between Fang Xuexian and their father, Fang Yangtian. Yangtian tells his son that if the lawsuit continues, the only person who will truly get hurt is Old Mrs. Fang. It works. Xuexian is moved and decides to vote in his father's favor.
But then everything changes. The next day, Xuexian is visiting his mother's grave when he runs into Rong Yi, a former maid. He asks her about getting together, but she seems scared. She says she's afraid of Fang Yangtian. She then tells Xuexian that his mother's death was a suicide. Rong Yi also saw Fang Yangtian lock away some medicine in a drawer.
At the vote, Fang Xuexian stuns everyone. He votes to sue his father. Lin Cheng rushes over, confused. She asks him why he changed his mind after they had already agreed. He tells her he just can't forget the horrible way his mother died.
The Truth Comes Out (Sort Of)
A Bribery Scheme Uncovered
Xuexian explains everything to Fang Ziyin. She thinks there has to be a misunderstanding. She does some digging. It turns out Rong Yi was bribed. Dong Youwei and Kwong Wai Leung paid her off and even got her daughter a job in exchange for the story.
Courtroom Chaos
The trial begins. The lawyers for both sides argue fiercely. One side argues the family trust is perfectly legal and moral. The other side claims Fang Yangtian isn't mentally stable after his car accident.
Suddenly, Fang Yangtian sends a text to his lawyer. He asks for a recess. He agrees to hand over his medical report. Later, his team brings in his entire medical history, from birth until the present day, and gives it to Fang Xueli. Xueli is furious. He grabs the stacks of what he considers useless reports and throws them in a rage.
A Final Farewell
The episode ends with Gao Shen at a golf course. He announces to everyone that the charity gala will go on as planned. In fact, Fang Yangtian isn't shying away from the lawsuit. He's planning to make the event even bigger.
But we learn the real reason. Fang Yangtian knows he is dying. The party isn't about defiance. It's his way of throwing a grand farewell to say goodbye to all his partners from over the years.
