A Fiery Crash

The episode kicks off with Fang Yangtian on a business trip. His trip to Hengyang gets cut short by a violent car crash. He survives the initial wreck. But he is in critical condition and needs surgery.

The family rushes to the hospital. They immediately start arguing about what to do. Some want to fly him to a better hospital on a private jet. Others say moving him is a death sentence. While they bicker, the police show up. Captain Yang tells them they are investigating the crash.

We learn a woman named Lin Cheng was in the car with Fang Yangtian. She tells the police another car swerved into their lane and hit them head-on. The driver of the other car never stopped. They just fled the scene. Lin Cheng was still conscious after the impact. She saw the car was leaking fuel and starting to burn. She managed to drag Fang Yangtian out of the car. Moments later, the whole thing exploded.

A Family Divided

Fang Xuexian, one of the sons, arrives at the hospital. He sees his father is alive and just leaves. He doesn't seem all that concerned about what happens next.

His brother, Fang Xueli, has other things on his mind. He suspects his own wife had something to do with the crash. He confronts her about it. She does not deny it. She admits she had her uncle arrange the whole thing. She was worried Fang Yangtian was losing faith in her husband's ability to run the company. This was her way of protecting their position.

The third son, Fang Xueqin, has his own agenda. He doesn't want his older brother Fang Xueli taking over the company. So he rushes back to the office to secure his own power base. Their grandmother is left worrying about her injured son. Her other sons just give her an excuse about handling the "Uncle Huang" situation and leave.

The Problem with Zhijun

We meet the family's black sheep, Zhijun. She is the granddaughter from another branch of the family. She is spoiled and carries a massive chip on her shoulder. She loses her necklace in a bet but refuses to hand it over. This leads to a big fight, and she ends up at the police station.

Her mother comes to bail her out. She begs Zhijun to stop causing trouble under the Fang family name. Zhijun fires back with resentment. She believes her side of the family was cheated. She says if her own father and brother hadn't died in a car crash years ago, her uncle Fang Yangtian would never have inherited the company. Her mother is heartbroken by this. She threatens to cut ties with her if she doesn't change.

A Company in Crisis

Back at the company, things are a mess. Fang Xueli tries to handle the public relations nightmare of Uncle Huang's death. He holds a press conference and offers a ten million compensation. But Huang's son shows up holding a picture of his father. He is not satisfied with the money. He gets angry and punches Fang Xueli in the face.

Fang Xuexian had been watching from the side. He decides to step in. He produces evidence showing Uncle Huang had bought counterfeit Chongde Jewelry from another store. This proves it was all a misunderstanding. It clears the company's name and saves his brother from further embarrassment.

Then, the news of Fang Yangtian's car crash leaks to the media. The company's stock price completely tanks. Everyone starts gossiping about who will be the next heir. The crisis makes banks nervous. They start rejecting the company's loan applications.

Vultures Start to Circle

The family is full of secrets. We learn that Huanqiu, Fang Yangtian's sister-in-law, asks a Mr. Dong to play a special song for him in his coma. The song has personal meaning for them. She hopes it might wake him up. But Mr. Dong seems nervous. It turns out he helped set up the car crash. He is so worried that he bars Lin Cheng from visiting Fang Yangtian. He is afraid she might expose him.

The board of directors is in a full-blown panic over the stock price. They want to halt trading. Fang Xueli is arrogant. He insists he can manage the company without his father. But a board member, Mr. Kuang, is not convinced. He brings up Fang Xueli's past failures that cost the company money. Fang Xueli just pulls the "eldest son" card and promises he can handle it. Mr. Kuang has his own plans. He wants to use the chaos to take the chairman position for himself.

We also meet Gao Shen. He is a former lawyer who holds a grudge against Fang Xueli. He used to date Mr. Kuang's daughter, Kuang Shanqian. But she chose Fang Xueli instead. Gao Shen got into a fight with Fang Xueli, was sued, and lost his license to practice law.

A Plan for Revenge

Gao Shen decides to get his revenge. He finds Fang Xuexian at a nightclub and offers to buy his company shares. Fang Xuexian refuses. But Fang Xueli sees them talking. He assumes his brother is selling out the family. He gets furious and punches Gao Shen.

Kuang Shanqian visits her ex-boyfriend Gao Shen in the hospital. She asks him not to press charges against Fang Xueli. But Gao Shen is filled with resentment. He decides to sue. Fang Xuexian knows a criminal record would ruin his brother. To protect him, he agrees to sell his shares to Gao Shen.

Everything starts to unravel. Fang Xueqin discovers that Gao Shen isn't just buying his brother's shares. He is buying shares from other stockholders, too. He realizes Gao Shen is making a real play to take over the company. Then, Huanqiu makes a tearful confession. Her daughter, Zhijun, was the one who leaked the news about the car crash to the press. Zhijun feels no remorse. She argues with her mother and storms out.

In the hospital, Fang Yangtian's condition suddenly gets worse. Doctors rush in to save his life. Lin Cheng can only watch from the side, praying he makes it through.
