Episode Summary
The family is in chaos over Yangtian and Lin Cheng's marriage. Xuexian tries to expose Lin Cheng with a video, but the plan backfires spectacularly, clearing her name instead. Yangtian uses the opportunity to expose Kuang Weiliang's corruption and solidify his control. Just as things calm down, Yangtian receives a terminal diagnosis which he hides, and a new rumor about an old affair throws the family into turmoil once again.

The Family Reacts
A Little Too Happy
Let's start with Jiaxin. She’s on a cruise ship, watching the news about her father and Lin Cheng. And she is absolutely thrilled. The whole scandal is getting bigger and bigger. She hopes this mess will finally stop the wedding. Her husband, Fang Xueqin, is right there with her. He sees how happy she is with her little scheme. He's so proud he promises to buy her everything from fashion week.
Xuexian Hits Rock Bottom
Fang Xuexian is not handling this well. His sister finds him sulking in a hotel. She tells him hiding won't stop their father from remarrying. She also says Lin Cheng is already making everyone at home miserable. So he should come back and help figure out a plan. He refuses.
Instead, he goes to a loud nightclub. He just sits at the bar and starts pounding drinks. A woman comes over to talk to him. He's so drunk he doesn't push her away.
Right then, Gao Shen's sister shows up looking for him. It turns out his car scraped hers. She walks up to him, ready to argue. But he's completely wasted. He thinks she's a dancer and tries to give her a tip. She is not amused. She follows him back to his hotel. He stumbles into his room and mistakes her for his mother. He hugs her, talking about how much he misses his mom, and then passes out.
The next morning, he wakes up very confused. She explains she's there for the car damage. He figures his cousin Zhijun must have been driving. He gives her some money to settle it.
The War for the Fang Family
The Pressure Builds
The news about Fang Yangtian and Lin Cheng getting married is everywhere. Lin Cheng, however, isn't talking to the media. She just wants to keep things quiet. This only makes the Fang family look worse. The negative press is piling up.
Grandma Fang is furious. She wants Yangtian to make a public statement and fix the family's reputation. But Yangtian won't do it. He sits there and refuses to deny the marriage. He says he genuinely loves Lin Cheng. The two of them argue, and the tension is thick.
Xuexian Makes a Move
Fang Xuexian decides to take matters into his own hands. He looks for Yuan Zhijie's mother, a woman named Qi Po. He puts a million dollars on the table. He wants her to publicly accuse Lin Cheng of what she did to her son.
At the same time, the Fang Corporation's stock is tanking because of the marriage news. The shareholders are angry. They call a special meeting to remove Yangtian as chairman. Kuang Weiliang sits there, looking smug. He suggests they hold a vote. Fang Xueli sees right through him. He knows Weiliang just wants to take over the company.
The Plan Backfires
Xuexian bursts into the meeting. He's excited. He has the video of Qi Po that will ruin Lin Cheng. He plays it for everyone. The video shows Qi Po claiming Lin Cheng broke off their engagement seven years ago. She says this drove her son to almost commit suicide.
But then, the story completely changes.
We learn that Gao Shen also found Qi Po. He once won a lawsuit for her, so they have a good relationship. He warned her that while this could destroy Lin Cheng, it would also create a huge crisis for the Fang family.
In the video, Qi Po tells the real story. She admits she was the one who rejected Lin Cheng because of her family's poor background. Lin Cheng only pretended to be a gold-digger to spare an old mother's feelings. She took all the blame for years to protect Qi Po.
The Aftermath
Yangtian Cleans House
The truth about Lin Cheng and her ex-boyfriend is finally out. Fang Yangtian is relieved. He tells his PR team to release the video immediately and clear her name.
Then, he turns his attention to Kuang Weiliang. He pulls out evidence. It shows that Weiliang started his own company and profited from the corporation while Yangtian was in a coma. Weiliang goes pale. Yangtian says to keep things quiet, all Weiliang has to do is donate the money he made. Weiliang doesn't want to leave the company, so he quickly agrees.
A New Fake Relationship
Gao Shen's sister is trying to get tickets to her favorite idol's concert. She finds out Fang Xuexian developed the ticketing technology. She goes to him for help. He sees an opportunity. He agrees to get her the tickets on one condition. She has to pretend to be his girlfriend to scare off a woman named Tiffany.
Tiffany shows up at the hotel, all dressed up and excited to see Xuexian. She opens the door and sees him with his new "girlfriend." She's heartbroken and leaves. As Xuexian and Gao Shen's sister are leaving, they run into Gao Shen himself. He sees them together and naturally assumes his sister is actually dating Xuexian.
A Secret and a New Scandal
Alone in his room, Fang Yangtian looks at a medical report. He has an inoperable brain tumor. He's devastated. He decides to hide it from everyone. He wants to use the time he has left to make things right.
The next day, he takes Lin Cheng to the ancestral worship ceremony. The kids are not happy to see her. Grandma Fang refuses to give Lin Cheng a red envelope, which is a clear sign of rejection.
Later, the family has a meal together. Zhijun gets a text message. It's a rumor accusing her mother, Jiang Huanqiu, of having an affair with Yangtian when they were in college. Zhijun is furious with her mother. She thinks her mom stayed with the Fang family just to be close to Yangtian. Grandma Fang blames all this bad luck on Lin Cheng, calling her a curse.
Afterward, Yangtian comforts a distraught Lin Cheng. He holds her hand and explains that he and Jiang Huanqiu grew up together. He says they are only friends.
