Episode Summary
A mistaken identity attack on Gao Jing reveals that Lin Cheng was the real target of a plot by Fang Xueli. In response to the family's continuing hostility towards Lin Cheng, Fang Yangtian places all family assets into a trust fund, giving Lin Cheng and Gao Shen control over the finances. This move creates a massive rift in the family, leading the children to rebel, but Fang Yangtian holds firm, revealing he knows about their schemes and begins to give Lin Cheng more corporate responsibility.

The Paint-Splattering Mix-Up
The episode kicks off with Lin Cheng figuring something important out. She tries to call Fang Yangtian, but she's being watched. Fang Xueli and his shady partner, Dong Youwei, hired thugs to teach Lin Cheng a lesson. Their plan is to rough her up.
But the plan goes wrong almost immediately. The thugs are waiting by an elevator, ready to pounce. The doors open, but it's Gao Jing who walks out, not Lin Cheng. The thugs don't hesitate. They douse a completely unprepared Gao Jing in paint. She is terrified.
Gao Shen and Fang Xuexian hear the commotion and come running. They chase after the attackers. There's a pretty intense fight, but the two thugs manage to get away. Later, Fang Xuexian remembers one of them yelling about Lin Cheng owing money. So, it's obvious she was the real target.
Gao Shen makes sure Lin Cheng gets home safely. He warns the entire Fang family that they need to lay low and not go out. The threat is real. Lin Cheng feels awful about what happened to Gao Jing and apologizes to everyone. But Old Mrs. Fang and her kids are not having it. They just double down on calling Lin Cheng a curse on their family.
A Surprising Act of Kindness
Gao Jing decides to give Fang Xuexian a massage to thank him for trying to save her. He feels guilty, though. He tells her it's his family's fault she got hurt in the first place.
This whole mess makes Gao Jing think about her own life. She says that being rich seems to come with its own set of serious problems. Her own simple life is looking pretty good in comparison. She remembers her childhood. She and her brother were poor and often hungry, but they were always there for each other. It was a tough time, but it was also a happy one.
Fang Yangtian Drops a Bomb
Lin Cheng feels responsible for all the bad press and drama surrounding the family. She tells Fang Yangtian she thinks they should separate. He responds with a power move no one saw coming.
He announces he's putting all of his assets into a trust fund.From now on, if any family member wants to use any money, they need to get approval. And the three people who have to approve it are Fang Yangtian, Lin Cheng, and Gao Shen.
You can imagine how well that went over.
Fang Xueli absolutely loses it. He screams about why an outsider should control their money. Old Mrs. Fang is just as angry. She asks Fang Yangtian why he doesn't trust his own son.
That's when Fang Yangtian reveals he knows everything. He tells them he found out Lin Yao's gambling debt was already paid off. He knows Fang Xueli and Dong Youwei hired the thugs to throw paint on Lin Cheng to frame her. He also knows who was behind Lin Cheng missing her meeting with Mrs. Li. Gao Shen found a sleeping pill in the office, and they traced it back to Jiaxin.
The truth is out, and the family is stunned.
The Trust Fund Fallout
Later, Lin Cheng tells Fang Yangtian she doesn't want to be a trustee. The rumors about her being a gold digger are bad enough. Now she's the reason the whole family is fighting. But Fang Yangtian explains that this is exactly why he did it. He wants to give her real power and solidify her position in the Fang household.
Then, Gao Shen gives Lin Cheng a USB drive. It contains all the details from her and Fang Yangtian's car accident. It seems like there are still more secrets to uncover there.
The next day, Gao Shen holds a meeting and lays out everyone's spending habits. Kuang Shanquan is immediately annoyed. She complains that her allowance isn't even enough to buy a new bag. The meeting ends with everyone angry. Fang Yangtian's goal was to push his kids to be more responsible, but it's just causing more conflict.
In protest, Fang Xueli and his brother, Fang Xueqin, decide to go on strike. They refuse to handle any company business. They figure Lin Cheng has no idea what she's doing and the company will fall apart without them.
This backfires spectacularly. Fang Yangtian just threatens to replace them. They panic and promise to be at work the next day. But when they show up, they find out Fang Yangtian took Lin Cheng to Macau to meet with the important Mrs. Li. This was a job that always went to Fang Xueli. He is furious.
The episode ends with Kuang Shanquan trying to buy a designer bag. Her card gets declined because of the new spending limit. She calls Fang Xueli for help, but he can't do anything. He just lost millions of dollars gambling. The two of them storm off to find Gao Shen and demand a higher limit, calling the gambling loss an "investment." When Gao Shen refuses, they run straight to Old Mrs. Fang to complain, hoping she can get the trust cancelled.
