The Next-Gen Hits a Wall
We start with Fang Xueqin. He's trying to get his big project off the ground. Gao Shen shows up, sent by Fang Yangtian, to see if this idea has any legs. Fang Xueqin is immediately defensive. He basically calls Gao Shen his father's lapdog. He thinks Gao Shen has no right to judge his work.
Gao Shen doesn't argue. He just calls up the old man. Fang Yangtian confirms on the phone that Gao Shen has the final say. Defeated, Fang Xueqin explains his plan. It's an AI data analysis scheme. The idea is to use AI to find companies to buy. Gao Shen is not impressed. He tells Fang Xueqin the whole thing is reckless. He points out that the target company is already bankrupt. The risk is huge. He shuts it down.
A Trip to Macau and a Call from Home
While that's happening, Fang Yangtian and Lin Cheng are in Macau. They're meeting with a Mrs. Li. Everything seems fine. Mrs. Li even set them up in a nice hotel. But Lin Cheng is worried. She feels the new trust is creating a huge rift between them and the sons. Fang Yangtian tells her not to stress about it.

The Investigation Takes a Turn
So, what was the call about? The police found a lead on the driver who crashed into Fang Yangtian's car. But there's a twist. The driver was in a car accident himself yesterday. He's now in a coma and might not make it. The police tell Fang Yangtian this is getting complicated. It looks like a bigger conspiracy is at play.
Meanwhile, Lin Cheng finishes her business with Mrs. Li. The meeting went well. Mrs. Li even secured a storefront for their jewelry business in Singapore, setting them up for future work.
At the hospital, Fang Yangtian spots a mysterious woman peeking in on the comatose driver. He gives chase. But the stress and exhaustion are too much. He suddenly faints and collapses. His phone falls and gets run over by a car, completely shattered. As he's passing out, Gao Shen appears, looking very concerned.
The Family Implodes
With Fang Yangtian off the grid, the family starts to panic. The old lady is still on her hunger strike. Fang Xuexian is worried sick and can't reach his father. Fang Xueli is ready to give in on the trust just to get his grandmother to eat.
But their advisors, Dong Youwei and Kuang Shanquan, tell him no. They see this as the perfect chance to take down Lin Cheng and get control of the money back. They don't want to waste the opportunity.
Lin Cheng lies to Mrs. Li, saying Fang Yangtian has a cold and can't make it to an event. In reality, she has no idea where he is. She can't reach him either. The family is a mess, and the brothers, Fang Xueli and Fang Xueqin, keep winding up their grandmother. They say things to make her even more determined to continue her hunger strike.
The Final Confrontation
Lin Cheng finally gets a message from Jiang Huanqiu. She learns the old lady is demanding she fund Fang Xueqin's project immediately, or she won't eat. Lin Cheng calls Gao Shen for help. She tells him she can't find Fang Yangtian. Gao Shen knows Fang Yangtian is in a hospital back home, but he doesn't say anything.
Then, Fang Yangtian wakes up in the hospital. He tells the police about the mystery woman he saw. Just then, a doctor brings bad news. The driver's condition has gotten worse. Fang Yangtian rushes to the man's bedside. Right before he dies, the driver manages to say someone paid him off. Fang Yangtian finds a photo under the driver's pillow and takes it to a photo shop, where the owner's son recognizes a neighbor in the picture.
The old lady, weak from her hunger strike and believing Lin Cheng is controlling everything, faints and is rushed to the hospital. Lin Cheng flies back to Hong Kong and goes straight there. The brothers immediately start blaming her. She sticks to the story that Fang Yangtian is just busy with work.
Just then, Fang Yangtian walks in. He tells them all he wasn't just "busy." He was investigating the truth. He found out the AI company was a sham. And he knows his sons were using their grandmother's life to blackmail him. Fang Xuexian looks at his father with pure hatred. He says his father has always been cold and heartless.
