Spoiler Alert
The Truth Comes Out
Yiwei's Confession
The episode kicks off with Tang Xuan trying to lock down proteção for Qin Yiwei. She suggests canceling all vacations to give him 24-hour surveillance. Her boss correctly points out that it’s not a foolproof plan. Once the case goes to court, information will leak.
Then we get to the heart of it. Qin Yu goes to see his son, Yiwei, in detention. This is where the bomb drops. Yiwei admits he didn't hit Han Gang by accident. He did it on purpose. It was all for revenge.
A Horrific Backstory
Yiwei finally explains everything. He flashes back to when his father, Qin Yu, sentenced Han Kuilong. While the trial was happening, Han Kuilong’s son, Han Gang, broke in. He raped Yiwei’s mother. He also stole her necklace.
Yiwei’s mom tried to act strong for him afterward. But he never forgot Han Gang's face. He saw the man who destroyed his family. So, years later, he intentionally ran Han Gang down with his car. He did it to get his mother's necklace back.
This confession completely shatters Qin Yu. He finally understands why his wife killed herself. He was so buried in his work that he never saw her pain. He thought she just left him. Now he knows the truth. He stands in the rain, completely broken. Then, he goes home and pulls out a gun.
A Two-Pronged Attack
The Han Family Strikes Back
Han Lie tells his father, Han Kuilong, that Qin Yu's son was the driver. Han Kuilong has already figured out where Yiwei is being held. Their plan is simple. They want Yiwei dead.
A Coordinated Hit
Things get wild fast. A mob of thugs suddenly rushes the police station. Tang Xuan is smart. She knows this is just a diversion.
The real action is happening elsewhere. Qin Yu, wearing a mask, sneaks into the hospital. He’s there to kill Han Gang. But Han Gang is surrounded by bodyguards. Qin Yu can't get a clean shot. Han Gang, being the total creep he is, gets annoyed by his own security. He sends them away so he can harass a nurse. This gives Qin Yu the perfect opportunity.
Just as Qin Yu raises his gun, the scene cuts. We see Yiwei in the showers at the detention center. Someone is strangling him from behind. It’s a tense moment. A guard finds him just in time and saves his life.
A New Strategy
The Trial
Back at the hospital, Qin Yu lowers his gun. He doesn't shoot. He has a better, smarter idea for revenge.
We then jump to Yiwei’s trial. His grandmother acts as his defense lawyer. She argues that he was a scared kid who made a mistake. She mentions the trauma from his mother's death. She even has support from his teachers and classmates. The argument works, sort of. The court sentences Yiwei to one year in prison.
Prison is the New Battlefield
This isn't a win. Yiwei is now headed to the same prison as Han Kuilong. Qin Yu knows this is a death sentence. He goes to the warden and asks him to look out for his son. The warden shuts him down. He says he treats every inmate the same.
So Qin Yu gets creative. He decides to use the media. A political rival, Lu Weide, starts smearing Qin Yu's name publicly. Qin Yu uses this attention. He has Zhang Ning speak to reporters about the poor conditions in prison. He wants to shine a light on the place to prevent violence.
The plan works. A politician named Councilor Huang makes a public visit to the prison. He praises the warden. Then he tells the press that prisons need to focus more on the mental health of inmates. He even drops a line about admiring Qin Yu’s integrity. It's a brilliant political move. Qin Yu has put the prison under a microscope to keep his son safe.
Qin Yu's Revenge Begins
The Priest
Qin Yu starts his real plan for revenge against Han Gang. It’s not about a quick death. It's psychological. He learns that Han Gang is very superstitious and trusts a "priest." So Qin Yu disguises himself as that priest and pays Han Gang a visit.
A Slow Burn
Whatever Qin Yu said during that visit worked. Han Gang immediately goes off the rails. He stops taking his medicine. He spends all his time drinking and chasing women. Han Lie tells his father about this strange behavior. But Han Kuilong doesn't think anything of it.
Instead, Han Kuilong gives his son some terrible advice. He explains that he only got powerful by sucking up to people in business and politics. He says he fell because he got arrogant and crossed the wrong people. He warns Han Lie to never make enemies.
A Body to Collect
The episode ends with Qin Yu bringing supplies to Shasha and her child. She’s worried. She wants to get out of town before anyone finds Qi Changrong's body. Qin Yu tells her he will send them away. But they have to wait until after Friday.
He says he has a plan for Friday. He needs to "collect a body."
