Han Gang Wakes Up, But Something's Wrong
So, Han Gang is finally awake. That's the good news. Han Lie rushes to tell their father, Han Kuilong. But there's a huge catch. Han Gang has total amnesia. He remembers nothing. This is not what Han Kuilong wanted to hear. He's worried. He tells Han Lie to watch his back. He knows Qi Changrong will use this as an opportunity to cause trouble. He wants Han Lie to protect his brother at all costs.
Qi Changrong Makes His Move
Speaking of Qi Changrong, he's not wasting any time. He shows up at Cao Weir's house with his crew. He's still furious about Ma Shanbao's death. You get a little backstory here. Qi Changrong was in love with Shasha, but she chose Cao Weir. He tells Cao Weir he needs him to get something done.
Then things get ugly. Shasha is at the park with their son, Xiao Jun. Someone snatches the kid. At the same time, Qi Changrong is at the police station. He's screaming at Tang Xuan about Ma Shanbao. Han Lie shows up too. The two of them get right in each other's faces. The tension is thick.
Shasha calls Cao Weir in a panic. She tells him Qi Changrong took their son. Cao Weir is trapped. He has no choice but to agree to Qi Changrong's demands. After he agrees, Xiao Jun is returned safely.
The Real Culprit Starts to Emerge
Han Lie's New Suspicions
Tang Xuan thinks Han Lie killed Ma Shanbao. But Han Lie isn't so sure Ma Shanbao was the real hit-and-run driver anymore. He tells her a masked man broke into his brother's hospital room the night before. This makes him suspicious. He gives Tang Xuan a sketch of the man he saw. This throws a wrench in Tang Xuan's plan. She was hoping to pin it all on Ma Shanbao to stop Han Lie's quest for revenge. Now there's a new suspect in the mix.
Tang Xuan Connects the Dots
Later, Tang Xuan gets a nice surprise at home. Shi Zhiyang set up a birthday dinner for her. It's a sweet moment. But it's cut short by a phone call about a suspect in an old arson case.
The next day, Tang Xuan figures it out. The mystery man who broke into Han Gang's room is Qin Yiwei. She gets the surveillance footage and takes it straight to Qin Yu. You can see the shock on Qin Yu's face when he watches the video. He tries to play it cool. He promises Tang Xuan he'll investigate and get her an answer.
After she leaves, Qin Yu calls Qin Yiwei. It turns out Qin Yiwei is standing right outside the police station. He's done hiding. He tells Qin Yu he went to the hospital on purpose. He wanted the police to know he was the one who hit Han Gang.
Everyone's Plans Go Sideways
A Gift Causes Big Problems
Han Lie buys a watch for Tang Jia. He does it secretly. She tries to refuse it, but he just shoves it into her bag. Later, Tang Jia goes home and gives her sister a birthday present. Tang Xuan sees the gift and assumes it's the expensive watch from Han Lie. Tang Jia has to explain that Han Lie forced it on her.
Tang Xuan is not happy. She doesn't want her little sister getting tangled up with someone like Han Lie. She tells Tang Jia to return the watch immediately. Then, she sets up a meeting with Han Lie herself. When Han Lie sees her holding the gift, he finally puts it together. Tang Jia is Tang Xuan's sister.
And who happens to see this little meeting? Qin Yu. He also spots a security camera on a nearby wall. You can practically see the gears turning in his head.
Qin Yu's Desperate Gamble
Qin Yu knows Qin Yiwei is about to confess. He meets with him first. He suggests they just run away together. Qin Yiwei is all for it.
Qin Yu then goes to Luo Wen. He tells her he saw Tang Xuan and Han Lie meeting. He lies and says they were making some kind of secret deal. He suggests it's connected to Ma Shanbao's death. He even mentions the camera that recorded everything. But Luo Wen is wary. Qin Yu has lied to her before. She doesn't fully trust him.
So, Qin Yu drops the real bomb. He tells her the truth. Qin Yiwei was the one who hit Han Gang. Luo Wen is stunned. She tells Qin Yu she's done following his lead.
Cao Weir's Betrayal and Escape
While all this is happening, Cao Weir puts his own plan into motion. He gives his cop friend, Bin Ge, some cash for a police uniform. The next day, he joins Bin Ge on patrol. He knocks out Bin Ge's partner. With Bin Ge's help, he loads a van full of weapons from the police vehicle.
But just as he's about to drive off, Bin Ge turns on him. He says he'll repay his debt in the next life. Then he gets on the radio and reports that he's been robbed.
Cao Weir is on the side of the road, opening the case of weapons. Before he can even make a move, the police surround him. He gets shot in the chaos but manages to get in his car and speed away.
