Spoiler Alert

This show just keeps getting more complicated. I thought I had a handle on Mou Sen’s plan. I was wrong. This episode was all about misdirection. He’s playing a whole different game than everyone else on the board.

The Land Deal Goes Sideways

The episode kicks off with the big sting operation. Zhi An and Yang Yipeng are on the passenger ship. They’re in position. The police are also there, disguised and ready to move in.

On another front, Liu Libo finally connects with Ma Yong for the exchange. Ma Yong is smart, though. He’s not just going to hand over the goods. He tells Liu Libo to lead the way. He wants to see the person he's trading for first. Liu Libo gets directions from Gu Zhifeng, but there's a problem. The cops already have Gu Zhifeng. He’s completely under their control and seems to regret his entire life.

The police even manage to plant a listening device. They disguise themselves as waiters and slip it into the room. But the conversation they overhear is useless. It has nothing to do with the drug deal. It’s all just chatter.

A Fatal Diversion

Things start to fall apart fast. Yang Yipeng thinks he sees Mou Sen on the ship. He tries to follow but gets bumped by someone in the crowd and loses him.

The real action is happening on the road. Liu Libo suddenly can't get ahold of Gu Zhifeng. He starts to panic. He tries calling his boss, Du Ye, but Du Ye just ignores the call. Cold.

Ma Yong is desperate to save his son. He doesn't stop for anything. He smashes his car right through a police checkpoint. It doesn't end well. The police stop the car and he's killed in the process. Liu Libo dies in the car with him. It’s a brutal, messy end for both of them.

But here’s the first big twist. The cops check the car. The drugs are all fake. The entire land deal was a setup. It was all a diversion orchestrated by Mou Sen.

The Real Plan Unfolds

Mou Sen’s actual plan was much slicker. He used fireworks as a signal for the real deal. He chose to move the goods by sea to avoid the police. His crew loads a huge amount of product onto the bottom of a boat. They deliver it straight to Du Ye without any issues. The real deal went off perfectly while the cops were chasing ghosts.

Mou Sen then takes the shipment to Tang Jinshan. This is supposed to be the final exchange for Mou Lang. But Tang Jinshan goes back on her word. She tells Mou Sen she isn't giving Mou Lang back.

What Mou Sen doesn't know is that she can't. Earlier, Mou Lang got his father's account info from someone called Uncle Huang. He gave it to Tang Jinshan. She used Mou Lang's iris scan to change the account password. Then she killed him.

Li Haipeng sees the deal with Mou Sen going bad. He wisely pulls Mou Sen away from the confrontation. He grabs Duo Zai and they get out of there.

The Double-Cross

This is where it gets even better. Yang Yipeng gets on a jet ski and chases after Tang Jinshan's boat. She and her crew are celebrating. They think they just scored big.

Then they spot Yang Yipeng behind them. Tang Jinshan panics. She immediately starts destroying the drugs and escapes on a smaller speedboat. Yang Yipeng boards her empty yacht. He finds the drugs she left behind. He checks them. And guess what? They’re also fake.

Mou Sen played everyone. He gave the real drugs to Du Ye. Then he took a batch of fake drugs to "trade" with Tang Jinshan. He knew she would betray him.

The Aftermath and a New Trap

Duo Zai is finally safe. He quickly figures out that Mou Sen's real mission was always about saving his own son, Mou Lang. Mou Sen apologizes to Duo Zai. He tells him that his family member, Ma Yong, died during the transport. Duo Zai is furious. He was forced into this whole mess, and now his family is dead because of it.

Back at police headquarters, Yang Yipeng, Luo Zhongkui, and Director Fang put the pieces together. They realize Gu Zhifeng and Liu Libo were just pawns. They also figure out Du Ye has no idea Mou Sen scammed him with the first batch of real drugs, only to use fakes for the final trade. They suspect Mou Sen was the one who tipped them off about the second deal. He wanted the police to seize the fake drugs from Tang Jinshan. It was the perfect way to destroy the evidence of his scam. The team knows there has to be an even bigger secret hiding beneath all this.

Duo Zai goes home and finds Si Yan Hao waiting for him. Si Yan Hao is wrecked with guilt. He gets on his knees and begs for forgiveness. He admits he worked with Mou Sen to stage the kidnapping. If he hadn't, Duo Zai would never have been taken, and Ma Yong would never have died trying to save him. Duo Zai just asks for the name of the hospital where they're keeping Ma Yong's body. He wants to see him one last time.

The police try to use this. Zhi An gets Duo Zai's number from Ma Yong's phone. She calls him, pretending to be a hospital worker. She tells him to come in. But Duo Zai is sharp. He recognizes her voice. He knows it’s a trap. He tells her he doesn't know any Ma Yong and pretends they had a terrible relationship. He hangs up, leaving the police with nothing.
