Spoiler Alert

The Walls Close in on the Dirty Cop

A Hospital Bed Confession

The episode kicks off with Liu Bingqiang. He’s awake in the hospital after the whole beach fiasco. The police are there, trying to get him to name his informant.

Then Luo Zhongkui walks in. You have to appreciate his mind games here. He acts furious with his own officers. He yells at them for being too rough with Liu Bingqiang. He even makes them apologize. This is all a show, of course. It’s a classic psychological tactic to get the suspect on his side.

After his officers leave, Luo sits down. He starts eating and chatting casually with Liu. He talks about how Liu just got out of prison. He points out how terrible it would be to go right back in for many more years. He knows exactly which buttons to push.

It works. Liu Bingqiang is thinking about his kid. He doesn't want to lose everything again. He decides to talk. He makes it clear his son wasn't involved in any of this. Luo doesn't care about that. He just wants one thing. The name of the dirty cop.

Liu Bingqiang folds. He gives up Gu Zhifeng. Just like that, the mole is exposed. Luo immediately calls Director Fang. The next day, they both go brief the top brass at the narcotics division. The game has changed.

One Last Job

The Setup for a New Drug Run

While the cops are closing in, the criminals are planning their next move. Du Ye and Mou Sen need someone to transport another shipment. They tap Liu Libo for the job.

Liu Libo is terrified. He tells them he has an inside connection but feels it's way too risky right now. He really doesn't want to do it. But you don't say no to Du Ye. So, backed into a corner, he makes a call. He calls Gu Zhifeng for help.

This is a huge mistake. Gu Zhifeng just wants to run out the clock until his retirement. He wants a quiet life. But now he's dragged back in. And worse, the police are now listening to his phone calls. They immediately put Liu Libo under heavy surveillance.

Liu Libo walks right into the trap. He goes to an apartment set up for him. He has no idea that police, disguised as ordinary people, are watching his every move. Once inside, he gets a call from Mou Sen on a burner phone. Mou Sen tells him this is his new number.

Separately, we get a quick check-in on Zhi An. She's worried about Duo Zai. He hasn't been online in days. She correctly guesses that he's in a bad situation. She thinks he's probably being forced to run drugs.

A Father's Final Gambit

The Prison Visit That Wasn't

Mou Sen tells Liu Libo to lay low and wait for the signal. The operation is set for the next day. There's a reason for the timing. Mou Sen's father, Mou Haidong, is scheduled to be executed. He is allowed one final visit with his family.

Luo Zhongkui is sharp. He figures Mou Sen will try to use this as an opportunity to see his father one last time. And he's right. Mou Sen disguises himself as his brother, Mou Lang, and prepares for the prison visit.

But Mou Haidong is just as sharp as the cops. The prison allows him to have a meal sent by his family. He takes one bite of the food. He instantly knows it wasn't made by Mou Lang. He refuses the visit. The plan fails.

A lawyer then delivers a message to Mou Sen. His father will only give up his account numbers and passwords on one condition. Mou Sen has to rescue his brother, Mou Lang. All this time, the police have Mou Sen's car staked out in front of the prison. But he never even gets out.

The Secret Inheritance

Yang Yipeng is doing some old-fashioned detective work. He travels to Mou Sen's hometown and starts asking questions. He's trying to find out about a man named Luo Yuansu. This man had claimed to be Mou Haidong's son.

The villagers know the story. They remember Mou Haidong had an illegitimate son. He kept the boy in a pigsty. The mother's name was Luo Fenghua.

At the same time, Mou Sen gets a phone call while he's at the local ancestral hall. He learns his father left him a massive inheritance. But there's a big catch. The key to accessing it is Mou Lang's iris scan. Now it all makes sense. He needs his brother.

The Lion Dance Deception

A Trail of Clues

Yang Yipeng's investigation leads him to Luo Fenghua's grave. From there, he gets a break. He finds surveillance footage showing Mou Sen leaving the area in a taxi.

He tracks down the driver. The driver tells him he overheard Mou Sen on the phone. He was talking about a lion dance team. This is the piece of the puzzle they needed.

Mou Sen, desperate for the inheritance, comes up with a new plan. He's going to trade for his brother, Mou Lang. But he'll use fake pink "B" drugs for the exchange.

Setting the Stage

Zhi An is eager to get in on the action. She asks Yang Yipeng for a chance to help. He gives her a dangerous assignment. She's to go undercover with the lion dance team.

Mou Sen sets his own plan in motion. He approaches Ma Yong. He frames the job as a mission to rescue Duo Zai. He tells Ma Yong to deliver a 200kg shipment of drugs by himself. This is clearly a decoy.

Ma Yong agrees. Before he leaves, he has a heavy moment with Si Yan Hao. He gives Si Yan Hao his life savings. He says if he doesn't make it back, he wants the money to be used to take care of Duo Zai.

The police are also getting into position. They have officers embedded in the lion dance team, secretly watching Tang Du. But Tang Du is slippery. He leaves for a meeting, quickly realizes he's being followed, and expertly loses his tail.
