An Awkward Reunion

Yang Yipeng is on the move. He starts by tailing Zhan Cui. His surveillance leads him straight to a drug rehabilitation center. And in a classic TV drama twist, his ex-fiancée, Ruan Yongwei, is the counselor greeting Zhan Cui at the door.

Ruan Yongwei gives Zhan Cui a serious pep talk. She tells her to stay strong. She says to think about her daughter's future, if not her own. Yang Yipeng sees an opportunity here. He approaches Ruan Yongwei to ask about Zhan Cui and the Baiye Music Store. He explains it's for a case.

Ruan Yongwei is completely unconvinced that Zhan Cui is a willing user. She points out that Zhan Cui came to the center on her own. That shows she's fighting the addiction. Then the conversation gets personal. Ruan Yongwei is clearly upset that Yang Yipeng hasn't said a word about their past relationship. He offers no apology. He just gets his information and leaves. It’s a cold move.

The Music Store's Secret

The next day, Yang Yipeng confronts Zhan Cui directly. He waits for her after she picks up her daughter from school. He doesn't mince words. He tells her, "You can fool Ruan Yongwei, but you can't fool me."

That’s all it takes. Zhan Cui breaks down and explains what happened. She says a customer returned a record to the music store. Tucked inside was a drug that looked like a postage stamp. She couldn't resist the temptation but felt terrible about it afterward.

The Milk Powder Cans

Yang Yipeng keeps pressing her. She finally spills the real secrets of the music store. Her boss, Bai Di, receives a private shipment every Tuesday night. It's not instruments or records. It's cans of milk powder. She's never allowed in the office, so she has no idea what he does with them. From the way she talks, you can tell she despises Bai Di. She practically begs for him to be put in jail.

The Stakeout

We get a quick, important memory from Mai Jiamin. She recalls seeing Li Jun use one of those stamp-like drugs. He went completely berserk right before he jumped from that building. His reaction was nothing like a typical overdose.

That night, Yang Yipeng goes undercover. He dresses as a sanitation worker and sweeps the street outside the music store. He watches as one of Bai Di's associates throws a milk powder can into the trash. Yang Yipeng quickly grabs it.

A Close Call

Inside the store, Zhan Cui pretends to be cleaning while secretly watching Bai Di. He thinks she's just going through withdrawal. He cruelly taunts her, pulling out one of the drug stamps and waving it in her face. We learn the source of her hatred for him. He once tried to force her to sleep with a client.

As they face off, Yang Yipeng makes his move. He bursts into the store, yelling that he desperately needs to use the restroom. The sudden chaos creates the perfect diversion. He successfully rescues Zhan Cui from a very bad situation.

Aftermath and New Leads

Zhan Cui is grateful, but she still seems a little unsure if Yang Yipeng is really a cop. He doesn't stick around. He calls his superior, Luo Zhongkui, to report the new intel. Just then, he spots someone else entering the music store. It's Duo Zai.

Yang Yipeng follows Duo Zai, who leads him to a pharmacy. After that, he gets back to his main surveillance target, Mou Sen. It's clear Mou Sen is on high alert now. He's become much more cautious.

Back at her apartment, Zhan Cui is frantically packing to leave. She looks down and sees her daughter playing with a drug stamp that had fallen on the floor. She panics. In the chaos, she accidentally injures her daughter. The police arrive, and Officer Zhi An is there to calm the frightened child. This is the final straw for Zhan Cui. She sits down with the police and tells them everything.

Later, Yang Yipeng tells Zhi An that he suspects Duo Zai is involved in the drug trafficking operation. Zhi An fiercely defends Duo Zai, insisting he would never do such a thing. Yang Yipeng drops it. He gives the milk powder can to Luo Zhongkui and walks away.

The episode ends with Si Yan Hao. He's in a lab making drugs for Mou Sen and Li Haipeng. They pressure him to try the product. They lie to him, saying it's harmless. He makes a terrible mistake and believes them. He uses the drug, and his fate is sealed.
