Episode Summary
In this episode, the police try to trap Duo Zai but only catch Ma Yong. Mou Sen rescues Duo Zai, revealing a dark connection to the drug operation. Undercover as A Zhen, Yang Yipeng uses a prison connection to get an introduction to the target, Liu Bingqiang. A chance encounter between Yang Yipeng and Zhi An forces them to improvise a fight, which gets them tailed by Liu's men and leads to a narrow escape.

A Cold Chain Theory
I’ve got to hand it to Luo Zhongkui. The guy has instincts. He shows up to see Director Fang with some fancy tea he grew himself. But he's not there for a tea party. He's there to break down the case.
Luo has a new theory. He thinks the traffickers are using cold chain logistics. You know, refrigerated trucks. It's a solid way to hide the product. Based on this, he decides to zero in on a guy named Liu Bingqiang. Liu has the resources for this kind of operation. He also has a criminal record. Luo has dealt with him before. He's sure this is the right thread to pull.
The Phone Trap Goes Sideways
The police set up a pretty clever trap. They get Lili to call Duo Zai and Si Yan Hao. The story is that her grandma is feeling better. She wants to send a gift to thank them. The real goal is to get their address.
It almost works. But Duo Zai is sharp. He senses something is off with the call. He hangs up immediately. Even so, the cops manage to track them down anyway. They move in fast and grab Ma Yong. Duo Zai isn't so easy to catch. He grabs the injured Si Yan Hao and makes a run for it. Just as they're escaping, a car pulls up. The driver, Mou Sen, forces them inside.
An Unlikely Rescue and a Dark Past
Mou Sen's Surprise Appearance
So, Duo Zai and Si Yan Hao are now in a car with a total stranger. Mou Sen tries to play it cool. He tells them a "Dr. Luo" gave him some money for them. It's a weak lie. It falls apart almost instantly.
A Past Revealed
One of the henchmen with them recognizes Mou Sen. This is where things get really interesting. He reveals that Mou Sen is the illegitimate son of Mou Haidong.
We get a whole backstory here. Mou Sen and his mother were basically prisoners. They were forced to cook drugs in a pigsty. It was a miserable life. The henchman, Ma Yong, remembers passing by the pigsty once. He saw a young Mou Sen peeking out at him. Mou Sen eventually got away from the village. He came back years later, only to find out his mother had already died. It’s a brutal history.
Undercover at the Docks
A Zhen's Plan
Yang Yipeng is deep undercover as "A Zhen". He's working odd jobs at the docks to get his foot in the door. While he's there, he runs into someone from his past. It's an old prison mate named Yang Min.
We see a quick flashback. When A Zhen first got to prison, the cell boss tried to rough him up. A Zhen is a skilled fighter, though. He took the guy down in seconds. This move also saved Yang Min from a beating.
Getting an Introduction
Back in the present, A Zhen puts on a show for Yang Min. He complains about how hard his life is. He shows off the scars he got from an explosion. He plays the pity card perfectly. He asks Yang Min to help him find a job that pays fast.
It works. Yang Min totally buys the act. He tells A Zhen he'll introduce him to Liu Bingqiang. He even vouches for A Zhen. He tells his contacts that A Zhen is a loyal guy who saved his life back in prison.
A Father-Daughter Act
An Unplanned Reunion
Zhi An is just trying to get a bite to eat at a small restaurant. She spots a guy making a shady deal. Her cop instincts kick in, and she starts to follow him. The trail leads her to a hot pot restaurant. And who does she see there? Yang Yipeng.
She walks up to him, completely surprised. She asks where he's been all these years. This could blow his entire cover.
Thinking on Their Feet
They have to think fast. Yang Yipeng's whole demeanor changes. He gets aggressive and shoves Zhi An. They start improvising a scene. They pretend to be a father and daughter having a massive fight. He even pretends to search her pockets. They yell at each other and then storm out.
The performance is convincing. But it also gets them noticed. Liu Bingqiang's men see the whole thing. Now, they're following them.
The Getaway
A Tail and a Phone Call
In the taxi, Yang Yipeng and Zhi An realize they have a tail. This is bad. Yang Yipeng immediately gets on the phone with Luo Zhongkui. He explains the situation.
Setting the Stage
Luo's team springs into action. They race to the apartment. They quickly stage the place to make it look like a father and daughter actually live there. It's a race against time. Yang Yipeng and Zhi An get to the building. They manage to slip out the back door just as Liu Bingqiang's man, Qin Shishan, is watching the front.
Qin Shishan is left waiting downstairs. He asks the building's garbage collector about the residents. The old man tells him that A Zhen is almost never home. He also says he has never seen a girl there before. This makes Qin Shishan suspicious. He gets some tools and heads upstairs to see for himself.
