Episode Summary
Ji Bozai rushes to refine the demon beast while Sun Liao's tyranny grows. Mu Qibai attempts a coup at the palace but is thwarted by Ji Bozai's timely return. However, the return is a trap. Mu Qibai's man, Meng Yangqiu, uses a cursed gift to infect Ji Bozai with demonic energy, causing him to transform and flee. Ming Yi desperately saves him in the Spirit Vow Well, then rushes to help Bu Xiu fight off Mu Qibai, all while Situ Ling misunderstands her motives.

Ji Bozai's Risky Plan
Princess Tianji finally goes looking for Ji Bozai. She only finds Ming Yi at his place. Ming Yi doesn't hide anything. She tells the princess the truth. She asks her to hold on for just four more days.
Normally, refining a demon beast takes seven days to finish. But Ji Bozai is pushing it. He's decided to pour all his energy into the process. He wants to get it done in five days flat. He refuses to give Mu Qibai any chance to snatch Shouhua Pan Palace.
A Tyrant in Charge
Sun Liao took over Ji Bozai's duties. He's becoming a real tyrant. He's super strict with everyone else. But the rules don't seem to apply to him.
Tianji has to play nice with him to keep things stable. She speaks softly and just goes along with whatever he wants. It's tough to watch. But the longer this goes on, the more the other cultivators resent Sun Liao. They start secretly causing trouble for him. Yan Xiao sees all of this happening. He's just quietly watching from the sidelines.
A Glimmer of Hope and a Misunderstanding
Fu Yue went on a long, dangerous journey. She even got hurt along the way. But she finally found a strange object for Situ Ling. It's called a "Domain Bug."
This thing is special. Once you have it, you can track down the elusive Fleeting Dream. Situ Ling sees how injured Fu Yue is. You can tell he feels pretty bad about it.
Mu Qibai's Warning
Yan Xiao reports back to Mu Qibai about Sun Liao. He says he didn't expect Sun Liao to be so unstable. But Mu Qibai sees right through him. He knows Yan Xiao was aware of Tianji's plans but kept his mouth shut.
Mu Qibai gives him another warning. He tells Yan Xiao that he's too greedy. If he doesn't let go of some of his ambitions, he'll never get anything truly valuable. All his scheming will be for nothing.
The Past Haunts Ji Bozai
Ming Yi waits anxiously outside the room. She's worried sick about Ji Bozai. Inside, he's still being influenced by the demon beast. He's reliving a painful memory.
Years ago, Ji Bozai made a mistake. He trusted an old woman who was crying about her lost son. The woman said his hands looked just like her son's. She begged him to leave a handprint on her handkerchief as a comfort. Ji Bozai didn't think twice. He did what she asked.
It was a trap. The woman was actually trying to get her own son off the hook for a crime. She used the handkerchief with the handprint to frame Ji Bozai. After that, he saw how dark people could be. He stopped trusting in the good of the world.
The Power Play at Shouhua Pan Palace
A little later, Mu Qibai shows up at the palace. He brings a whole crew of his followers with him. He reads an order out loud to everyone. He wants to strip Princess Tianji of her position as palace master.
Mu Qibai Makes His Move
His words are sharp. He says Tianji is a bad leader. She can't handle the responsibility. He suggests she should just retire and live a quiet life as a princess.
Tianji knows exactly what's happening. She knows Mu Qibai has wanted power for a long time. She politely refuses his offer. She insists they wait for her father, the king, to wake up and make the decision.
Mu Qibai keeps pushing. He yells that she isn't worthy of her position. He says the only way out is if she can produce the missing Ji Bozai. Right as he says it, the hall doors open.
A Perfectly Timed Entrance
Ji Bozai walks in calmly with Ming Yi. He says he was just in seclusion to break through a cultivation bottleneck. He claims he has now succeeded and is more powerful than ever.
Mu Qibai is speechless. He has no choice but to leave in a huff. On his way out, he gives a secret look to Meng Yangqiu. Everyone else is just happy to see Ji Bozai back safely. They all rush up to greet him.
The Trap Is Sprung
Meng Yangqiu acts on Mu Qibai's signal. He pretends he's just there to celebrate. He offers Ji Bozai a gift.
The "Gift"
Ji Bozai opens the box. A "Demon-Luring Tribulus" suddenly appears. It shoots into Ji Bozai's body in an instant.
Immediately, a huge wave of demonic energy explodes from him. Everyone in the hall is terrified. They start to wonder if he really does have a connection to the demon beast.
The Transformation
In the next second, Ji Bozai's black hair turns completely silver. Ming Yi tries to run to him to help. He screams at her to stay back. Then he vanishes.
A Desperate Rescue
Ming Yi is terrified for Ji Bozai. She grabs Twenty-Seven and goes into the Spirit Vow Well. She doesn't care about the danger. She pours all her strength into pulling the Demon-Luring Tribulus out of his body.
The Fight at Dragon Carp Terrace
Situ Ling has also tracked them to this spot. He finally sees the Spirit Vow Well. He believes Ming Yi is only close to Ji Bozai to get the Fleeting Dream. He thinks she doesn't actually care about him. This makes him happy, and he decides to help her get what he thinks she wants.
At the same time, Bu Xiu is trying to delay Mu Qibai. He went to Dragon Carp Terrace alone to buy time. But he gets surrounded.
Ming Yi makes sure Ji Bozai is safe for the moment. She can't stay long. She rushes to Dragon Carp Terrace. She sees Bu Xiu is about to be killed. She injures herself by using her own flower petals. This forces her spiritual power to surge so she can fight Mu Qibai.
Situ Ling jumps in to help at the right moment. The two of them work together. They manage to get Bu Xiu out of the jam. Ming Yi ignores her own injuries. She says a quick goodbye to Situ Ling and rushes off to find Ji Bozai again. Chao Yu sees this whole exchange.
