Episode Summary
Ming Yi protects an unconscious Ji Bozai, strengthening his trust in her. Mu Qibai's attempt to frame Ji Bozai backfires spectacularly when Ji Bozai proves the evidence was rigged, exposing Mu Qibai's own demonic connection. An underling takes the fall. We learn the backstory of Yan Xiao's loyalty to Mu Qibai, who then orders him to commit a murder. The episode ends with multiple characters making dangerous moves, leading to the torture of one of Ming Yi's friends and a direct threat against Situ Ling.

A Bedside Vigil
The episode kicks off with Ming Yi rushing back to the Spirit Vow Well. She finds Ji Bozai still unconscious. Bu Xiu tells her what’s going on. Ji Bozai pushed himself too hard by absorbing the demon beast's power. That, plus the Demon-Luring Tribulus, has left him weak and trapped in a nightmare about Chen Yuan again.
So, Ming Yi decides to stay right by his bed. She doesn't leave his side. When Ji Bozai finally wakes up, she’s visibly relieved that he’s okay.
Ji Bozai is thinking clearly now. He remembers leaking demonic energy. Everyone else was suspicious of him. But Ming Yi trusted him completely. She didn't try to take his Fleeting Dream power when he was weak. Her loyalty makes him feel something. For a moment, he lets himself believe that he actually matters to her. He thinks it might not all be about strategy and calculation.
The Confrontation
Mu Qibai Makes His Move
Their quiet moment doesn't last long. Mu Qibai and his followers arrive on the shores of Wugui Hai. Ming Yi knows Ji Bozai’s demonic energy is still a problem. She goes with Granny Xun to handle the situation.
Mu Qibai thinks he has Ji Bozai cornered. He loudly accuses him of hiding a demon and having a secret, evil plan. He then orders his men to arrest Ji Bozai. Ming Yi steps in front of them. She refuses to let them pass.
A Test of Innocence
Situ Ling shows up to make good on his promise. He told Ming Yi he would clear Ji Bozai’s name. He pulls out a Demon-Luring Tribulus. He says anyone who raises a demon will have demonic energy around them. He proposes they use the Tribulus to test Ji Bozai again.
This makes Meng Yangqiu nervous. He blurts out that Mu Qibai warned him never to touch the Tribulus with his bare hands. Before he can say more, Mu Qibai uses a spell to choke him. He cuts off his breathing and makes him go pale. Mu Qibai then pretends to be concerned. He tells Yan Xiao to check on Meng Yangqiu. This is clearly a signal for Yan Xiao to kill him.
The Tables Turn
Ming Yi is about to use her own power to stop this. But then Ji Bozai appears out of nowhere. He breaks the spell holding Meng Yangqiu. He calmly walks over and touches the Demon-Luring Tribulus himself. Nothing happens. He’s completely unharmed.
This proves the Tribulus was tampered with.
Ji Bozai then throws the Tribulus at Mu Qibai. It hits him, and he suffers the same pain Meng Yangqiu did. His own demonic markings appear on his skin for everyone to see. The crowd is shocked. With the truth exposed, Shao Qun has no choice. He steps forward and takes the fall for Mu Qibai. He claims everything was his idea.
Shao Qun and Meng Yangqiu are arrested and thrown in jail. Mu Qibai and his group leave. Suddenly, Ming Yi feels sick. She makes up an excuse and rushes back to her room so Ji Bozai won't get suspicious.
Backstories and Bad Decisions
Yan Xiao's Loyalty
Yan Xiao goes to the jail to see Meng Yangqiu. Meng Yangqiu warns him to get away from Mu Qibai before it's too late. But Yan Xiao can't.
We finally learn why Yan Xiao is so loyal. He was born without a spirit vein. Everyone looked down on him. Mu Qibai was the one who defended him from the ridicule. He saw Yan Xiao’s natural talent for medicine and trained him. He made him into the Medical Immortal he is today. Their fates are tied together now. If one falls, so does the other.
Mu Qibai's New Plan
Back in his quarters, Mu Qibai is annoyed. He’s used to having Shao Qun around to help him. He is furious that Ji Bozai and the others ruined his plan. He summons Yan Xiao. He orders him to give the God-Lord a bottle of poison.
Mu Qibai wants the God-Lord dead. Yan Xiao tries to find a way out of it. But Mu Qibai is firm. He gives Yan Xiao an ultimatum. Does he save one person, or does he save the entire world?
Loose Ends and New Threats
Ji Bozai’s demonic energy flares up again. It starts leaking out of his body. Ming Yi reminds him to focus his mind, and he manages to get it back under control.
Later, Situ Ling visits Ming Yi. He isn't hiding his feelings for her anymore. He even takes her hairpin as a keepsake. His guard, Fu Yue, notices that Chao Yu is a potential threat to Situ Ling. She wants to kill him. Situ Ling stops her. He tells her to arrange a meeting with Chao Yu instead.
Chao Yu goes straight to Mu Qibai. He tells him that Ming Yi helped Ji Bozai with the demon beast. He cleverly leaves out the part about Situ Ling's involvement. Mu Qibai knows Ming Yi is good friends with Zhang Tai. He orders Sun Liao to arrest and torture Zhang Tai for information. Zhang Tai is brutally beaten but refuses to say a word.
The episode ends with Situ Ling going to his meeting. He finds Chao Yu, who immediately overpowers him and pins him to the ground.
