Episode Summary
In this episode, Xu Yan proves she can handle the Shen family's internal drama by getting through to Haochen. However, the return of Zhou Zeyuan and his blackmail threats puts her entire carefully constructed life at risk. She now has to figure out how to neutralize him before he exposes her secrets to Haoming.

Haochen's Ploy
Shen Haochen is in the hospital after his "accident." He's been feeling ignored his whole life and just wants his family's attention.Xu Yan is taking care of him, and he sees that even though she can be harsh, her concern is real.Xu Yan isn't buying his act for a second, though.
She shows Haochen a video she took of him horse riding. It clearly shows his weak spots. She tells him it's to help his coach correct his form. Then she goes straight to her husband, Shen Haoming. She tells him Haoming's little brother faked the whole fall. She explains that Haochen is just desperate for attention.She even shares a story from her own childhood to make him understand. Haochen, who was pretending to be asleep, hears everything. He's actually touched.
A Moment of Peace
Haochen apologizes to Xu Yan. He asks her to convince the family not to send him abroad. She agrees. Later, the entire Shen family shows up at the hospital to visit him. This is exactly what he wanted. He calls it one of the happiest days of his life.
As a thank you, Haoming gives Xu Yan a brand new red car. She feels like getting gifts for every little thing is a bit strange. But she tells her husband that this life with him is exactly what she wants.
Old Problems, New Threats
Qiao Lin's Next Step
Qiao Lin is also making moves. Her makeup skills get her noticed at work. She's on the list for a promotion to the sales department. There's just one problem. Her education level is too low. She knows this is her biggest weakness, so she asks Yu Yiming for help.
The two of them meet up at a bar. They both get pretty drunk. Yu Yiming ends up so wasted that Qiao Lin has to take him home, where he promptly gets sick on her. The next day, he tries to play it off. He claims he wasn't really drunk, the alcohol just had a delayed effect.
The Blackmailer Is Back
Just when things seem to be settling down, Zhou Zeyuan shows up. He's an old acquaintance of Xu Yan's, and he's bad news. He knows her real identity and threatens to expose her.He wants her to convince Haoming to invest in his sketchy company.
Xu Yan is furious, especially when he comes to the family home and starts charming her mother-in-law. She confronts him privately. She calls him out, telling him his company is a sham with no real business plan. She knows it wouldn't pass any kind of government inspection. But Zhou Zeyuan doesn't care. He just doubles down on his threats.Xu Yan knows she can't let him stay in their lives. The episode ends with Zhou Zeyuan leaving with Haoming. Xu Yan watches them go, determined to get rid of him for good.
