Episode Summary
A disastrous party leads to jealousy and a drunken night for both Shen Haoming and Xu Yan, who wake up in the same bed with no memory of how they got there. While Xu Yan's career gets a major boost, a warning from Steve makes her believe Shen Haoming is only using her for business. She overhears a conversation that confirms her fears, leading her to confront him and declare that their relationship is impossible due to a total lack of trust.

A Very Public, Very Awkward Party
Jealousy is a Bad Look
This whole thing kicks off at a group dinner. Shen Haoming is absolutely fuming. He has to sit there and watch Xu Yan having the time of her life with Jiang Liang. They're laughing. They're leaning in close. It’s not a good look for his ego.
His buddy, Yu Yiming, tries to play it cool. He tells Shen Haoming they’re probably just talking about work. You shouldn't worry about it. But even Yu Yiming can see Jiang Liang is laying it on a little thick. Shen Haoming looks like he’s about to flip the table.
Then, the situation gets even messier. Yu Yiming’s girlfriend, Qiao Lin, starts chatting happily with Jiang Liang, too. Shen Haoming gives Yu Yiming a look. It’s one of those "see, now you get it" looks. Yu Yiming tries to brush it off. He says Qiao Lin is just a friendly person. But a minute later, he can’t take it anymore. He marches over and pulls his girlfriend away from the conversation.
Drunken Mistakes
Shen Haoming decides to take action. He tries to get Xu Yan’s attention for a toast. She completely ignores him. He tries again. Nothing. Finally, feeling totally embarrassed, he stands up and makes a big show of toasting her in front of everyone. He downs his drink and storms out of the party.
He immediately starts complaining to Yu Yiming. He says he’s done with Xu Yan for good. He helped her so much. And she won’t even accept a simple toast from him.
Meanwhile, Xu Yan is having her own conversation with Qiao Lin. She says Shen Haoming never cared about her before they separated. So why should she care about him now? She insists she's over it.
Both of them proceed to get incredibly drunk. Shen Haoming is a mess. He’s just holding his phone up, desperately hoping Xu Yan will call him. Yu Yiming is mortified for his friend. Xu Yan isn't doing any better. She’s wild and drunk, and Qiao Lin can barely keep her under control.
The Morning After the Night Before
Waking Up Together
Shen Haoming and Xu Yan wake up the next morning. They are in the same bed. Shen Haoming panics. He’s terrified that Xu Yan is going to be furious.
Their friends, Yu Yiming and Qiao Lin, have to explain what happened. It turns out they were both so drunk that Yu Yiming just dropped Shen Haoming off at Xu Yan's house. The two of them, in their drunken state, simply ended up passing out together. Nothing actually happened. But Yu Yiming and Qiao Lin admit that seeing them like that was a huge shock.
Shen Haoming and Xu Yan are beyond embarrassed. They can't even look at each other. They just start frantically cleaning the apartment to avoid the awkwardness.
Business, But is it Personal?
A New Opportunity
Just when things can't get any more uncomfortable, Yu Lan shows up. She’s happy to see Shen Haoming and Xu Yan together. She asks Xu Yan to come to Shen Haochen's horse-riding competition. Xu Yan doesn't say yes or no. She just makes an excuse and leaves quickly.
Outside, Xu Yan tells Shen Haoming she is focused on her career. She wants to make more traditional clothing. She is determined to make her studio a success. He suggests they celebrate her ambition with the Bajinlai couple.
Later, Xu Yan gets some amazing news. A leader from a historic town wants to collaborate with her. They want to promote her plant-dyeing heritage project. This is exactly the kind of opportunity she was hoping for. She gets a formal invitation. Things are finally looking up for her.
A Seed of Doubt
The good mood doesn't last. Steve gives Xu Yan a call. He warns her that her new collaboration with Jinda has a three-month trial period. Steve suggests Shen Haoming is just using this deal to keep her from leaving him for good. He tells her to be careful.
This idea gets stuck in her head. When she arrives to meet Shen Haoming and the Bajinlais, she hesitates at the door. She overhears Shen Haoming talking business. His words seem to confirm her fears. He sounds like a man who only cares about profit and value. She starts to believe he’s only interested in her for what she can offer his business.
The Final Confrontation
It's Over (Again)
Shen Haoming can tell something is wrong. He asks Xu Yan why she’s being so cold. She tells him she sees his real motives now. He’s just using her.
He tries to explain himself. He insists that’s not what’s happening. But Xu Yan isn't listening anymore. She tells him she feels like she can’t see the real him. She doesn't even know who he truly is. She says they can’t be a couple. There is too much doubt between them. They just aren't meant to be.
