Episode Summary
In this episode, Xu Yan and Shen Haoming successfully reunite an old mentor with his ex-wife. Inspired by their success, Shen Haoming makes a public apology to Xu Yan, and they get back together. Meanwhile, Lin Tao makes a suspicious business move with Qiao Lin's trust, and other characters like Jiang Liang and Fang Lei react to the couple's reconciliation. Operation: Get the Old Couple Back Together
A Rocky Start
So, Xu Yan is on a mission. She wants to reunite her mentor, the Master, with his ex-wife. She tracks the woman down at her wax-dyeing shop. To break the ice, Xu Yan buys some of her beautiful dyed fabric.
She then tries to gently bring up the Master. She talks about knowing a talented artist who can't seem to find his inspiration anymore. The wife figures out what’s happening immediately. She realizes Xu Yan is trying to play matchmaker. She gets angry and walks out. Well, that didn't work.
Shen Haoming also shows up at a wax-dyeing exhibition. He's trying to be incognito, all covered up with his face hidden. Xu Yan thinks he’s acting just as weird as the Master. It turns out he even bought a VIP annual pass just to be near his wife.
Later, Xu Yan finds a hairpin the wife dropped. She realizes the wife still has feelings for the Master. She’s just too stubborn to admit it.
A Second Try Works
Xu Yan and Shen Haoming decide to team up. They split up to talk to the old couple separately. They want to get them in the same room to finally talk things out. This attempt also fails. The Master and his wife barely say a word to each other before leaving.
Xu Yan and Shen Haoming know something is wrong. They switch partners and try again. Shen Haoming talks to the Master. He uses his own messy situation with Xu Yan as an example. He tells the Master that his wife is still wearing that hairpin. That proves she still cares. He says as a man, he should be the bigger person. Just apologize. It’s not that hard.
At the same time, Xu Yan is talking to the wife. She also uses her relationship with Shen Haoming as a lesson. She admits she was confused. She didn't know if Shen Haoming was using her for business or if his feelings were real. But after thinking about it, she believes they have to be brave and face things together. She encourages the wife to be brave and fight for her love.
The wife isn't convinced. She says her husband doesn't even have the courage to admit he was wrong. Just then, the Master walks in. He apologizes. Finally! The two of them make up. Xu Yan and Shen Haoming are thrilled it worked.
The Grand Public Apology
Now it's Shen Haoming's turn. He gets on stage for some kind of performance. He publicly talks about being a heartless man who made mistakes. He says he wants to change. He asks for a second chance. The whole time, he's looking right at Xu Yan.
The performance involves people piling on top of him. He’s struggling under the weight. Xu Yan actually looks a little worried for him.
Listening to his public confession, Xu Yan starts to cry. As soon as he gets off stage, she runs to him. They hug. It looks like they are officially back together.
Business and Betrayal
While all this romance is happening, Lin Tao is dealing with work. He tells Qiao Lin they need to pause a contract. The company can’t afford the penalty fee if something goes wrong.
Later, Lin Tao seems to have fixed the company's cash flow problem. He brings a new contract for Qiao Lin to sign. She trusts him completely. She signs it without noticing the strange look on his face. This feels very sketchy.
Shen Haoming has a talk with his father. He promises to oversee the company’s expansion into foreign markets. His dad is impressed. He sees how much his son has grown and wants to put him on the board of directors. He’s also really curious about what caused this sudden change in Shen Haoming.
Loose Ends and Lingering Feelings
The Good Guy Finishes Last
Jiang Liang isn't giving up, but he's being classy about it. He sends Xu Yan a huge bouquet of flowers. He saw how passionate she was when talking about wax-dyeing. He tells her it makes her special and attractive.
He knows she and Shen Haoming are back together. But he says if things ever go south again, he’s happy to be her backup. It’s a bold move. He also sincerely wishes her happiness.
Plots and Pictures
Steve gets yelled at by his boss. He just has to take it. He then tells his subordinate to dig up information on that child Fang Lei mentioned. He thinks there's a big story there. Fang Lei, for her part, is not happy to hear about Shen Haoming and Xu Yan's reconciliation.
Shen Haochen is just happy to have Xu Yan around. She sees that he's been drawing pictures, and they are all of her. This really touches her.
A Family Reunited
The episode ends with Shen Haoming, Xu Yan, and Shen Haochen together again. It feels like old times. Xu Yan sees a drawing Shen Haochen made of the three of them as a family. It’s a sweet, heartwarming moment. Shen Haochen sees his brother taking good care of Xu Yan, and he feels relieved.
