Spoiler Alert

A Humbling Sparring Session

Lu Yuzhai Gets Schooled

So, Lu Yuzhai steps up to Su Muyu. He thinks this is going to be an easy fight. He is very, very wrong.

A few moves in, Lu Yuzhai realizes he is completely outmatched. His buddies watching from the side start to get nervous for him. Su Muyu disarms him and takes his sword. Then things get wild. The sword in Su Muyu's hand multiplies into several spears. They fly at Lu Yuzhai like they have a mind of their own. Lu Yuzhai is terrified. He scrambles backward, using every bit of strength he has just to stay alive.

Some of the onlookers think Su Muyu is going for the kill. They jump in to help Lu Yuzhai. It's pointless. Su Muyu knocks them all aside without breaking a sweat.

A Warning Shot

Turns out, Su Muyu was never trying to murder the guy. He was just showing off. He recalls a technique the famous Sikong Changfeng once used. It's called the Startling Dragon Change. He uses it to put the fear of god into this kid. The spears stop right in front of Lu Yuzhai's face.

Su Muyu tells him the hard truth. He could have killed Lu Yuzhai with his very first move. Lu Yuzhai doesn't argue. He just wants to know how some random nobody knows such a legendary technique. He knows Su Muyu is not who he seems.

Su Muyu plays it cool. He says he's nobody special. He just happened to fight alongside a Sword Immortal against the Demonic Cult once. Hearing this, Lu Yuzhai's whole attitude changes. Fighting in the Demonic Cult's Eastern Expedition is a big deal. He immediately lets Su Muyu pass and even yells at his own men for trying to block the way.

The Road Ahead Gets Rough

Lu Yuzhai Covers His Tracks

As Su Muyu leaves, he gives Lu Yuzhai a piece of advice. He says the so-called Unrivaled City should act like it's actually unrivaled. It's a solid burn.

After Su Muyu is gone, Lu Yuzhai looks at his own weapon. It's been completely shattered by the force of the fight. He finally gets it. This guy is a serious problem. He can't let this failure be on his record. He immediately sends a message up the chain. He tells his superiors to stop Su Muyu at all costs.

Su Changhe Deals with a Traitor

Elsewhere, Su Changhe gets some bad news. He learns there's a traitor in his organization. This person is apparently gathering forces to move against him. Su Changhe's reaction is simple. He gets ready to kill someone. We learn that Su Luandan made a huge mistake by getting on Su Changhe's bad side. Su Changhe kills the traitor, assuming the guy was just jealous of Su Muyu.

Running the Gauntlet

The Four Swords of Inquiry

Su Muyu expects trouble. He knows he needs to get through the next checkpoints quickly. He's right. Lu Yuzhai's message got through.

We cut to Jian Shanyue watching his students train. He points out all their weaknesses with perfect accuracy. One of his students, Xiu Ru, is impressed. Then a report comes in. Lu Yuzhai needs them to stop a masked swordsman. The students complain. They say Lu Yuzhai always tries to steal the spotlight but needs them to clean up his messes. Then they hear Lu Yuzhai already fought the guy and lost. They realize they're the cleanup crew. When Jian Shanyue hears the masked man has met Sikong Changfeng, he gets a strange look on his face and leaves.

Su Muyu arrives at the next pass. He learns he has to face a group called the Four Swords of Inquiry. They accuse him of having bad intentions. Su Muyu just scoffs. He says that's just an excuse people make when they know they can't win. He then proceeds to beat all four of them. The Four Swords realize their master just used them as a test for Su Muyu. They decide to let the higher-ups handle it.

The Elders Step In

Next up is Jian Yueshan. He's one of the elders. He's cocky. He thinks his famous "Beautiful Spring Wind" technique will be more than enough. It is not. Su Muyu defeats him in just a few moves.

Seeing this, Song Yanhu finally steps forward. He tells Jian Yueshan to back down. He tries to play the diplomat. He invites Su Muyu to Unrivaled City for tea to talk things over.

This is when Su Muyu drops the bomb. He's not here for tea. He's here to clear his father's name. Song Yanhu immediately realizes he has walked into a very complicated situation.

The Real Fight Begins

A Personal Grudge

Before Song Yanhu can react, another man steps up. It's Liu Yunqi, and he's holding his weapon, the Azure Dragon's Tooth. He says a City Lord shouldn't get involved in this kind of danger. He'll handle it himself.

Su Muyu sees his chance. This is the moment to fight for his father's honor. Song Yanhu is worried, but Liu Yunqi makes one thing clear. This is a private duel. It has nothing to do with Wujian City. It's about a personal grudge from the last generation. Win or lose, the city stays out of it.

As they prepare to fight, Jian Yueshan watches from the side. He notes that Su Muyu's style is not for sport. It's a sword style made for killing.
