Spoiler Alert

Family Drama and Bad Dreams

The episode kicks off with more tension between Wangquan Fugui and his father, Hongye. Hongye basically tells Fugui to get lost. He claims his mother needs peace and quiet. This just makes Fugui more suspicious. He knows his father is hiding something big.

Later, we see what’s really bothering Hongye. He has a nightmare about the Black Bitterness Tree. This is the same tree he thought he personally destroyed. He wakes up in a panic. He realizes his dreams are still connected to the world outside the border. This connection is why he’s pushing Fugui so hard. He needs his son to master the legendary Heaven and Earth Sword as soon as possible.

A Reckoning Is Coming

The Yiqi Alliance is getting ready for a big event. It's called the Blue Sky Convention. The whole point is to find the best and brightest of the next generation. The Li family is in charge of planning it.

But an uninvited guest is on his way.

Meet the Exiled Cousin

A man named Quan Jingting is headed for the convention. You need to know his backstory. He used to be a Wangquan. But fifteen years ago, Hongye stripped him of the family name. Jingting was caught using a demon pearl to practice forbidden magic.

Now he’s back. And he wants revenge. He also brought his son, Quan Rumu, with him.

The Revenge Plot

This Rumu kid is supposedly a prodigy. We learn that a sword strike he made two years ago was already close to the power of the Heaven and Earth Sword. He was part of the main Wangquan family line. He got exiled to the Western Regions for what they call a "small mistake."

So, his father Jingting goes straight to Wangquan Shouyi's opium den. He lays out his plan. Rumu will kill a "Weapon Human" at the convention to show everyone his power. Jingting wants to team up with Shouyi to take over the entire Yiqi Alliance. To do that, he needs Shouyi to provide a special pill to boost Rumu's abilities.

The Spy in the House

The story then shifts back to Fugui and the little spider demon, 12580. Fugui isn't an idiot. He knows she's a spy sent from the Thousand Silk Cave. The cave's leader, Lady Yin, has hated him for years and keeps sending assassins.

Fugui doesn't kill her, though. He just tells her to leave.

A Deal Is Struck

She completely breaks down. She begs him to let her stay. She explains that in her cave, the small spiders are treated like they're worthless. Then she gets injured and faints right in front of him.

He ends up bandaging her wound. He lets her stay for one specific reason. She told him she can weave brocade paintings. Fugui wants her to create a picture of a place he wants to see. It's called the Huai Shui Bamboo Pavilion.

An Unlikely Friendship

We get a look at their very strange life together. 12580 stays in Fugui's room and sleeps in a little paper boat he folded for her. She never stops talking. He mostly just listens in silence. Whenever he looks annoyed, she immediately goes quiet.

There's a really telling moment when her medicine is too bitter. Fugui seems irritated, but he still puts a piece of candy down beside her. You can see he's starting to care.

A Parting Gift

The brocade is almost done. 12580 knows her time there is ending. She brings him a small flower and thanks him. She's grateful that he treated her like a living being, not just a pest to be crushed.

The next morning, Fugui wakes up and she's gone. She left behind the finished brocade. It's a glowing, perfect image of the Huai Shui Bamboo Pavilion. Her departure clearly affects him. It seems he can't bring himself to kill demons so easily anymore.

Everything Goes Wrong

We follow 12580 back to the Thousand Silk Cave. Lady Yin reveals her real plan. The intelligence 12580 gathered was useless. Lady Yin never wanted intel. She sent the little spider to become Fugui's weakness. Her plan is to arrange a "reunion" at just the right moment to hurt him.

A Fateful Encounter

Back at the Wangquan estate, Butler Fei wants Fugui to win the Blue Sky Convention. He thinks if Fugui wins, Hongye will finally let him leave the grounds. Fugui gets his next mission. He has to kill a leopard demon named Fu Li and take its spirit pearl.

At the exact same time, 12580's little brother gets a deadly mission. He has to steal a spirit pearl from the fox demons. To save him, 12580 volunteers to go in his place.

You can see where this is going. The leopard demon king, Fu Li, catches her and beats her badly. Just as she's about to die, a familiar figure drops from the sky. It's Fugui.

A Desperate Choice

Fugui kills Fu Li and gets the spirit pearl. He then senses the little spider's presence and finds her, barely alive. He carries her back to his home.

Her injuries are too severe. She can't be saved by normal means. The only possible way to save her is to use the One Spirit Pearl he just acquired to refine her demon power. Fugui looks down at her and seems to think this must be fate.
