Episode Summary
Wei Yun and Chu Yu bust the Crown Prince at a brothel, using the blackmail to ensure key figures attend Wei Yun's banquet. At the party, Wei Yun is officially promoted to Marquis and head of the Armory Division. Later, Gu Chusheng reveals a 20-year-old conspiracy involving a framed prince and a Bei Qi princess. He and Chu Yu are then drugged and trapped in a room, but Wei Yun rescues Gu Chusheng just in time, saving Chu Yu's reputation.

Crashing the Crown Prince's Party
A Not-So-Secret Rendezvous
So, the Crown Prince, Li Huan, has a little secret. He’s been meeting a woman at the Yixiang Pavilion. But his secret isn't safe. Song Wenchang knows all about it. He paid off a palace eunuch to keep tabs on the prince.
You have to remember, Li Huan is engaged to Song Wenchang’s sister, Song Qingping. He's not exactly thrilled his future brother-in-law is buying dancers on the side. He gets Wei Yun and Chu Yu to go with him to bust the prince.
Turns out, the Grand Princess is the one who tipped off Chu Yu. She gave Chu Yu a note telling her where to find Li Huan. She wants to teach the prince a lesson for disrespecting her chosen girl, Tuantuan.
The World's Most Awkward Door Kick
The three of them get to the room. Song Wenchang and Chu Yu know they can't be the ones to break down the door. It would be a huge scandal. Wei Yun is supposed to do it, but he’s hesitating. He just can't bring himself to kick it in.
Chu Yu gets tired of watching him stall. She gives him a good shove. Wei Yun goes stumbling right through the door.
Inside, they catch Li Huan with the dancer. He completely panics. If this gets out, it will be a disaster for the royal family's reputation. Chu Yu and Wei Yun threaten to report him to the Emperor and the Grand Princess. That’s all it takes to make him cooperate.
A Banquet Full of Surprises
Will Anyone Even Show Up?
Later, it's time for Wei Yun's thank-you banquet. Things get off to a rough start. Nobody is coming. Everyone is just standing around, feeling anxious. Chu Yu makes a bet with Wei Yun that guests will eventually arrive.
Right on cue, her brothers Chu Linyang and Chu Jin walk in. The Grand Princess follows right behind them. Once she shows up, the floodgates open. Suddenly, the party is packed with people.
A Promotion and a Scapegoat
Song Wenchang shows up with a massive gift for Wei Yun. It’s a huge model of Mount Tai. He congratulates Wei Yun on inheriting his family's title. Wei Yun has to remind him that this is just a thank-you party.
But then the Crown Prince arrives. He brings an official edict with him. An announcement is made to the entire party. Wei Yun is officially inheriting the title of Marquis of Zhenguo. He's also being put in charge of the Armory Division, complete with a Fish Tally to prove his authority.
Li Huan also clears up that whole brothel incident. He explains why Wei Yun was there and throws Song Wenchang under the bus. Wei Yun’s name is cleared, but Song Wenchang gets stuck with the blame.
A Dangerous Secret from the Past
The Prince Qin Treason Case
The Grand Princess and the Crown Prince don't stay long. After they leave, Wei Yun notices something. Gu Chusheng and Chu Yu both slip out of the party one after the other.
Gu Chusheng stops Chu Yu in a quiet corridor. He’s the head of the Dali Temple now, which is basically the highest court. He tells her he can help her investigate old cases. He’s been digging into the Prince Qin treason case from over twenty years ago. He says he found something shocking. It could be connected to both the Chu and Wei families. The hallway isn't a safe place to talk, so they go into a private room.
Inside, Gu Chusheng lays it all out. He says Prince Qin fell in love with a woman while traveling. They had a son together. The prince promised her a happy life. But when he returned to the capital, Huajing, he was accused of working with the enemy state, Bei Qi. While he was being investigated, the woman fled back to Bei Qi. She took state secrets from their country, Da Sui, with her. Because of her, Da Sui lost three major cities.
We learn the woman was actually the Yunyang Grand Princess of Bei Qi. And she took her son, the prince's child, back to Bei Qi with her.
The Trap Is Sprung
Gu Chusheng believes his own father was framed, just like Prince Qin. He thinks the entire thing was a massive conspiracy planned by Bei Qi.
Just as he finishes explaining, someone locks their door from the outside. A drug is thrown into the room. Both Gu Chusheng and Chu Yu pass out.
The person behind this is Sun Yanei. He runs to tell Chu Jin about his plan. They’re going to expose Chu Yu and Gu Chusheng together in a room. It will destroy her reputation. Chu Linyang sees them talking and immediately suspects something is wrong.
A Last-Minute Rescue
Before the door is opened, Chu Linyang pulls Wei Yun aside. He tells him that he's the key to whatever is about to happen. But his warning isn't enough to stop Sun Yanei, who is eager to humiliate Chu Yu.
They burst into the room. But they only find Chu Yu, who looks like she was just taking a nap. Gu Chusheng is gone.
Wei Yun saved the day. He managed to get Gu Chusheng out of the room before anyone saw them. For his trouble, Sun Yanei gets arrested by Wei Qiu for causing a public disturbance.
Song Qingping hears that Chu Yu is unwell and offers to treat her. The drug hasn't worn off yet, and Chu Yu can't walk. She asks Wei Yun to carry her back to her room.
