The episode kicks off with a classic "oops." Shen Minghui accidentally breaks Shen Mingzhu's jade bracelet. This isn't just any bracelet. It's a precious Xu family heirloom. He Lihua gave it to Mingzhu. So, you can imagine the panic. Mingzhu is terrified of telling her mother-in-law. Minghui just stands there, completely stunned.
Xu Zhixia calls right then. She hears what happened. She immediately tells them to give her the broken pieces. She takes them to her mom, Yu Jingxiang, hoping for a miracle fix.

Feng Zhi is back from a business trip to Guangzhou. To celebrate, He Lihua books a private room at the Nanxi Hotel. She gets there early and starts chatting with friends in the lobby. But then his uncle gets up to give a speech. He publicly praises Li Jingzhe for his kindness. He then reveals something shocking. He has terminal liver cancer. We learn that Jingzhe sold his own newly purchased house to pay for his uncle's medical treatments. Li Bohai announces that he bought a life insurance policy. The beneficiary is Li Jingzhe.
His son and daughter-in-law are furious. They stand up and start yelling. Li Bohai just ignores them. He asks Shen Mingzhu to help Jingzhe with the birthday cake. It's an excuse to get Jingzhe away from the fight. Mingzhu is blown away. She had no idea Jingzhe had made such a huge sacrifice.

The Clinic Visit
Things take a dark turn for Yu Jingxiang. She is hit with sudden, severe abdominal pain and starts bleeding. She goes to a small community clinic for help. The doctor there gives her bad news. Her IUD has become embedded in her body. It has to be removed at a major hospital.
Jingxiang refuses to go. She doesn't want to spend the money or waste the time. She insists the clinic doctor perform the procedure right there.
A Procedure Gone Wrong
The doctor attempts the removal. It goes horribly wrong. The procedure causes a massive hemorrhage. The clinic doctor panics and calls for an ambulance. Jingxiang is rushed to the hospital.
The Hospital
An Unlikely Savior
Xu Zhixia calls Shen Mingzhu, who drops everything and races to the hospital. She finds Zhixia, Xu Zhidong, and their father, Xu Dacheng, waiting anxiously. The person who gets called in for the emergency surgery is Li Jingzhe.
He performs the operation and saves Yu Jingxiang's life. He has no idea who his patient is. Only after the surgery does he realize he just saved Shen Mingzhu's biological mother. Xu Dacheng is overwhelmed with gratitude.
A Bowl of Chicken Soup
Mingzhu is relieved that her mother is safe and goes home. Even Yue Xiue, who does nothing but complain about Jingxiang, is clearly worried. She quietly makes a pot of chicken soup. She tells Mingzhu to take it to the hospital.
Later, Shen Mingzhu brings the soup to Yu Jingxiang. When Jingxiang learns that Yue Xiue made it for her, she starts to cry. Mingzhu tells her to eat the big chicken leg from the soup. At this, Jingxiang completely breaks down. Through her tears, she says she has never eaten a chicken leg in her entire life. She always gave the best pieces of food to her children.
