Episode Summary
Yue Xiue and Yu Jingxiang make a fragile peace after Jingxiang is hospitalized. Ni Dani begins a calculated and successful campaign to win over a newly single Hu Gang. Bichen's surprise pregnancy creates a financial battle with Xu Zhidong's mother, who sees it as leverage. While Zhang Hao gets great career news, Shen Mingzhu grows suspicious that her uncle, Feng Zhi, is having an affair.

The Chicken Soup Peace Offering
So, Yue Xiue has been completely paranoid. She’s convinced Yu Jingxiang is trying to steal Shen Mingzhu’s affection. This paranoia leads to a huge, nasty fight between them. It gets so bad that Yu Jingxiang suffers a major hemorrhage. She ends up in the hospital.
You’d think this would be the end of it. But Yue Xiue, after saying some truly awful things, does something surprising. She stews a pot of chicken soup. Then she tells Mingzhu to take it to Jingxiang. The gesture completely floors Jingxiang. She’s in tears. Mingzhu also sees a different side of her mom and feels a wave of gratitude. It’s a complicated family, but that soup was a big deal.
The Awkward Thank You Gift
On another note, Hu Gang is tutoring Mingzhu during his lunch breaks. Yue Xiue wants to thank him properly. She gives Mingzhu some meal cards for the Nanxi Hotel. The problem is, they're all for two people. Hu Gang just broke up with Feng Meiqi. He's single.
Shen Minghui has an idea. He tells Hu Gang to take Ni Dani’s dad, Ni Debao, to dinner. He also lets it slip that Dani got Hu Gang’s WeChat from her father. Shen Shengli and Yue Xiue think Ni Debao is a bit sketchy, though. They suggest just giving Hu Gang a red envelope with cash instead. Simpler.
Ni Dani Makes Her Move
The Grand Plan
Shen Mingzhu tells Ni Dani about the whole meal card situation. Dani's response is perfect. She decides she’ll be the "big gift" for Hu Gang. Mingzhu thinks they’re a great match, and honestly, I agree.
So, Dani gets to work. She does her hair and makeup to look like Hu Gang’s ex, Feng Meiqi. Then she packs some food and heads to the school. She finds Hu Gang, strikes a dramatic pose, and hands him the food. Hu Gang is just stunned. He is completely captivated by her. She doesn't stick around. She just leaves him staring after her. It’s a bold move.
Playing Hard to Get
This wasn't a one-time thing. Dani brings Hu Gang lunch for several days in a row. She just drops it off and leaves without saying much. She even asks Shen Minghui about Hu Gang's favorite things. Then, just as he's getting used to it, she stops coming.
Hu Gang feels the loss immediately. His days feel empty without her surprise lunches. He even asks Shen Minghui if he knows what’s going on with her. Minghui just laughs at him. The plan is working perfectly.
A Pregnancy and a Price Tag
Bichen's Secret
Over in another world of drama, Bichen discovers she is pregnant. She wants to tell her fiancé, Xu Zhidong, right away. Her mother absolutely forbids it. Her mom is worried that Zhidong's parents will use the pregnancy as leverage. They might lower the bride price or back out of the house they promised.
Her mom decides they need to visit Jingxiang in the hospital. The goal is to feel her out and lock down the wedding details before anyone knows about the baby.
The Hospital Showdown
Yu Jingxiang is recovering, and Xu Zhidong has really stepped up. He’s taking great care of his mom, and she is very proud of him. Then, Bichen and her mother arrive.
Bichen's mom gets straight to business. She declares that the 26th of the month is a lucky day. The wedding must happen then. She also demands the bride price and house they originally agreed on. Jingxiang starts making excuses. She claims she already spent ten thousand of the bride price money on a jade bracelet for Mingzhu.
Right in the middle of this tense conversation, Bichen gets sick and vomits. Her mom quickly lies. She says Bichen just caught a chill. Then she grabs Bichen and they rush out. Zhidong suspects the truth. He thinks Bichen is pregnant, but Bichen denies it. Jingxiang, however, puts the pieces together. She grills her son and confirms the pregnancy in her own mind. And she knows Zhidong was completely in the dark.
New Beginnings and Old Suspicions
Hu Gang and Dani's First Date
After a few days of silence, Ni Dani shows up again. She tells Hu Gang she had a cold. He immediately offers her some chicken soup and buys her cold medicine. Dani is ecstatic. She finds out he just got his driver's license. She asks him to drive her home.
This is Hu Gang's first time driving on the road alone. He’s nervous and slow. But Dani is right there, cheering him on. They talk the whole way. They really connect. It’s the start of something real.
A Promotion and a Problem
Meanwhile, Zhang Hao gets some amazing news. He's been chosen as a finalist for the HR Director position at his company. He’s so thrilled he buys desserts for his daughter Jiaojiao at full price. He doesn't even wait for the evening discount.
When his wife, Xu Zhixia, gets home, she is furious about her mother’s behavior at the hospital. But her mood flips when she hears Zhang Hao’s news. She’s overjoyed. Finally, something to be proud of. He takes them out for a celebratory dinner.
The episode ends on a strange note. Mingzhu sees Feng Zhi, her aunt's husband, speeding by in his car. She mentions it to He Lihua, who says he's just playing cards at the teahouse across the street. Mingzhu knows he wouldn't need a car for that. Later that night, she sees him sitting outside their building, smoking alone. She suspects he is having an affair. She asks Dani about it, but Dani warns her to stay out of other people's business.
